The opportunity to cover this event has presented itself to me....
I am considering making the trip to tape and possibly livestream this event on the internet..

I need input, however, and also venue specifics from the organizers..

IF (and that is a big IF at this point) I am able to cover it, I would like input from the public on exactly WHAT portions/days/content  would interest the largest group.
Specifically, would this be an event that you would pay to watch streamed on the internet?? What parts would you want to see? What days would be the MOST interesting for people to view who were unable to attend?
Also, how much interest would there be in purchasing either DVD's or video files after the event??
Historically speaking, the majority of people have been interested mainly in the protection phase, and only individual competitors purchase entire routines and /or DVD's.

The logistics of covering this event could be more than I am able to handle alone..  (I can find nothing on the website that indicates another photographer/photojournalist is attending and or/covering the event..)
I have been trying to find out WHO has information on EXACTLY the amount of competitors, and a basic grid or schedule timeframe...  the posted schedule of "7am-6pm for 4 days straight" is unhelpful in determining the amount of tapes/batteries and other things I would need to have on hand.
I have a contact for this information, but multiple emails/calls/messages have yielded nil....

If ANYONE has any information on a contact point or phone/email for the correct person who could answer logistics questions, please send it to me via PM...

For opinion/conjecture on what you'd personally like to see covered/offered for viewing later, please post here.

As someone that can not attend. I would be most interested in seeing the Obedience then the protection and as a hilight the tracking for each team.
As for the contact info i'm of no help.
Good luck!

I wouldn't pay for it

No one will purchase the DVD, well maybe a few. This is because the WUSV is always taped professionally and provided to Working dog EU for posting.  As far as live stream goes, most people would like to see all of the obedience and protection. If the cost for viewing is economical around $25-30 you will sell a lot of viewer sales from around the world. Make sure you also get the critics and the scores. You need to advertise on the WUSV page, several working pages on facebook and several forums.

You may want to contact the even organizers and ask them if they plan to have it livestreamed.  Not that cannot offer the service too at a competitive rate. for the 2012 WUSV there was more than one service and DogchannelTV was the cheapest.

Last year dogchannelTV.com had a livestream and it was awesome.

Mari111......The OP is a professional videographer. Shes taped the DVG and many other events.
The problem with video aired by Working Dog EU is you have to bee a premium member to view it.
I would much rather pay for a video and add it to my collection then have to continuously pay the 55euro annual membership fee to Working dog EU to view it.

Thank you all for your comments..

Mari111, can you find information from your part of the world that indicates this event IS indeed being covered by another production company??

I also would have thought that this information would be posted on websites for this event, yet I can find nothing to contact.

In United States, video production costs are quite high, and I am not sure that other (uninvolved in dog sports) companies would provide services at a reasonable cost..
That is why I  am reaching out to the dog sport community... It would be a terrible shame to have NO professional video shot and have all of the organizers and competitors thinking that someone else had taken care of this minor detail...

I am also available to assist another group... assuming it is not cost prohibitive to send people and equipment overseas to tape it...  (which it likely IS.)

I am fairly sure I can offer livestream services at an affordable and competitive rate...  the issue is not the service, it is the ACCESS and AVAILABILITY of resources at this stadium...    that is why I am asking for contact information... It would be foolish to set up services for purchase, and then have no access to resources necessary to provide the best quality for viewers...

Does ANYBODY recall WHO covered this event the last time it was hosted in United States??   (by covered, I mean either taped it, streamed it live, or took professional photos from field level)

Thank you all for your input..   please pass on my information to any others who might be able to use my services/equipment....

Here is the WUSV event contact person listed on the WUSV web site. Dan is also the president of the hosting organization. I'm sure that he could provide you all the information you need concerning your desire to video broadcast the event via streaming. I'm not sure you provided video coverage in 2008 (the last time the WUSV was in the USA).  http://wusv2013.org/asp/faq.aspx

Denese

I understood that the Working Dog Eu site provided video cameras to a group of people for free if they video taped various events they attended..
If you can contact the right person at the GSDCA/WDA you could definitely do a better job :-)

I've been in touch will Dan Yee over a month ago.. I just can't get a reply back since he was in Germany for the big meeting.

Interesting about the EU asking people to tape what they can..   that makes sense.. it would be astronomically expensive to hire a (non dog) company to cover the event..  I never break even from these things.. but  so enjoy doing it for posterity.

I'll have to try the stadium owners..  perhaps I can get an answer from them.

I am making an educated guess that GSDCA has so many emails/voice messages that they can't get back to everyone.

Last call...  is ANYONE else interested in either watching this event on your computer.. or maybe buying a DVD later on...  and if so, is protection or obedience more of what you'd like to see, or BOTH??

I will make a decision soon.. after discussing travel arrangements with my "production crew"..

You may want to make this post in the German shepherd forum.  Most interested parties may not check the main forum section.

Also, you may want to try reaching out to Dan again.  Also try the other contacts on the www.WUSV.org site.
