What's best is what works for YOU and your dogs.
I've heard great things about Orijen but really $90 .00 something a bag? No thanks. Ive fed Blue Buffalo. Didnt care for it. The CS at Blue Buffalo are rude and seem to think for some odd reason they should never have to sample food or make any attempt to market to anyone other than the large pet chains. I went through this with them and they really appauled me by their attitude. If I remember right, it made one of my dogs hair fall out. Two strikes your out for me so it will be intersting to see what they are like at the Pet Expo. I'm not hoping for much.
I still like raw best

If I were to choose a kibble brand (i feed raw) i would go with Merrick's Grain free (comes in duck, chicken, beef, pork and others). It is relatively affordable and the ingredients are some of the best ive seen.
For a puppy Malinois I'd go with this one:

I like Back to Basics. I like that it is American made, nothing is outsourced, made from organ meats and contains no grains.

I feed Blue Buffalo Wilderness (pup formula). My boy is 8 months old and 65 lbs (Belg. Malinois). He loves his food. It's what you can afford and what your dog likes to eat which factors in when choosing a food.

TASTE OF THE WILD
BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ON THE ALL NATURALS!!
MY DOGS HAVE DONE GREAT ON IT!
I AGREE ON ITS WHAT YOUR DOG LIKES AND ALSO WHAT IS AFFORDABLE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL!

Although I don't have Mali's...My GSD's are all on TOTW (Lamb)...My entire kennel is on it...Some people who have had their dogs on Blue Buffalo have said their dogs wouldn't eat it...but when they tried TOTW the dogs loved it...That goes for puppies too...I know TOTW now has Puppy Foods too but I wouldn't use them...I only keep my puppies on Adult foods...Puppy foods are usually too high in Protein...
~Bob~
P.S. I'm sure they're as good or better foods on the market as TOTW...but for the money and the amount of dogs...it's a good choice...but...to me...It's always up to the dogs and how they do on it...

I've tried several of the best brands, including origen; my girl has snubbed most of them except blue buffalo wilderness. I think it may be because its the one that smells the most like roadkill.

what is the most ideal protein level for malinois puppies? I see a range from 27% c.p. to as high as 42%c.p.?
