Anyone out there using a Mal for a service dog? I am using my Mal for that purpose. Have seen afew on tv as well. Would like to hear from others using the Mal for this type of work. Thank you!!

I have a female Malinois who is my back up Mobility Service Dog and is my Seizure Assistance dog. She is a phenomenal girl and now that she is spayed she will be working much more.

I don't use a service dog, but I've placed a few Malinois with people who used them as service dogs. IMO they are very capable, as long as the temperament is solid.

My malinois was a service dog, PPD and family pet. He had a super clear head and was not sharp by any means. I honestly prefer the mal to any breed in this situation because of how hyperaware they are of everything and with a great bond to the handler they are hyperaware of the owner. There's only one other breed i'd use and thats a BRT. IMO they're just the best at anything you teach them.
