Which of these 2 titles holds more importance?  What's the difference
?

I would take a ph1 over a sch1 anyday. I would actually also take a psa1 over a sch1. Just do your research and you will read the differences. KNPV, IMO, is the hardest dog sport there is. After achieving a ph1, a dog would be deemed suitable for active service for police/military, etc.

Psa1.... I think you can get those out of a cracker jack box.

I think it all comes down to what's the dog like...

I'll take a GOOD dog no matter what titles it has...

It all depends what you want and what you're wanting the dog for...

Importance is all in the mind of the beholder...

Would you rather have a crappy KNPV dog or a good Schutzhund dog...and verse visa...

A Good dog is a Good dog...No matter what titles...No matter what pedigree...

But are you talking about a dog for Work...or a dog for Breeding?...???

For as many people there are on this forum, there could be that many opinions.  No ONE opinion is correct or incorrect.  each individual has his or her own opinion as to which they prefer and that is probably because that title or sport is their venue of training.  We prefer KNVP or PSA training because that is the training that is available to us in our area.  IN OUR AREA, we have no SCH clubs that are worth joining or training with.  We have been training our dogs in PSA ( Personal Protection)  for many years and have been very satisfied with what we are doing.

Like Q Man said, we'd take a good dog regardless of titles or pedigree.....JMO

In the KNPV system, there is no such thing as a home trial on your field where
you select the judge and use your training decoy the dog is familiar with.

If you want the certificate, there are one or two trials a year in each provience
where you can take your dog.  This is very public and there will be three usually
out of provience judges and two certified decoys.

I agree that no trial system is perfect and that no title is an absolute gurantee
of a good dog.

This is a little old, but still has useful information
