History on the Malinois? - Page 1

I am a new member and asked a question regarding nipping. I got some great feedback so thanks.  I have owned huskies and never owned a Malinois. We rescued Sophie and I just think that this is such a great breed.  To all the experienced owners out there, any suggestions on how to keep them happy?

We excercise her by walking and running. She loves to play tug of war with my Husky.  What other things do they like to do?  Do they like water?

Always depends on the individual dog.  Some Malinois' do enjoy swimming and/or dock diving.  Some enjoy Agility, IPO (American Working Malinois Association and/or United Schutzhund Clubs of America), French Ring (North American Ring Association), Mondio Ring, PSA, Obedience, Tracking - some enjoy doing it all.  Sometimes you just have to experiment and see what your Malinois seems to enjoy AND you enjoy doing - and go for it.  I'm sure you can find a club in your area by doing an internet search for several of the aforementioned sports.  My Police Dog does not like water, unless a suspect has gone in the water...whereas my other 3 would prefer to live in the water:)
