I got him when he was about 4 months old and he is 9 months now. Ever since I got him, he would drink water in large amounts. Sometimes I'd tell him to stop because I think he's just drinking water for the fun of it, but after a few seconds he'll continue. He doesn't get my attention to go outside too frequently, but he will urinate for long amounts of time. I have read that excessive water drinking could be a sign of diabetes, but it's not like he drinks a lot all day, it's just that when he DOES choose to drink, it's often a large amount of water. Please let me know what you think. Any information is greatly appreciated!

sometimes they will do this out of boredom - especially in a puppy. But 2 things come to mind (as a vet tech) diabetes or kidneys - might want bloodwork.
