I have two breeding bitches right now and I am in the process of importing a male from Belgium. I do Schutzhund for fun so I don't belong to a club or anything, although I do have a club I go to when there is a seminar or something. The reason I don't do it alot is because my plate is very full. I do CKC obedience, herding, flyball, recreational dogs sledding, confirmation among many, many other activities with my dogs. Schutzhund takes such a huge commitment I that I just don't have time for it right now but when I start getting sick of all the other things and free up time I will get into it a little more.
I also breed, raise and show Peruvian Paso horses as if I wasn't busy enough, oh plus I work full time as a dog groomer and part time at an livestock auction mart.
If anyone has a story I would love to hear it. Please by all means don't be shy. I know probably most of the people on here have told their storys already a hundred times. So if there is a thread that has stated all this stuff already please let me know.
My dogs names are Aica von Remlar and Mach Ten Matese.
Anyway hope to here from more of you.

Nice to meet you. Yes it is sad isn't it, to bad it would be nice to be able to talk to more Mal people. I thought I would try to get more involvement some how but wasn't sure how to go about it, but it's looking pretty stale though. How many Mali's do you have?
Hi John, that sound awesome, got to love that first litter. Did you manage to get all the pups in working homes. Thats always a tough one. And yes I can relate about the club being that far away, the club I go to once in a while is about that far too. Definatly takes and aweful lot of time and dedication for sure.

I have been browsing this site for some time and this thread has been the first to encourage me to write. I suppose it is because I have felt that I dont know enough about a breed that I have fallen in love with. I was introduced to this breed some 5 years ago; when the dog tha inspired me was the Rottie, at that time I had 6 Rotts.
The Mal impressed me so much that i purchased 2 pups, male and female, from a litter of a female who was the grand daughter of a champion, Turcodos. These pups were left with the trainer for almost 2 years during which time i visited very infrequently; but, these pups seemed to have bonded with me and welcomed me on each visit. I was impressed with their development and the love for the Mal just grew.
Just for info, I live in Trinidad, West Indies and bought these pups in Key West, Florida.
Today, I have 4 breeding females, 2 working males and am about to purchase a 20 month old male that has impressed me for studding.
There is a lot that I have experieced with these wonderful dogs in the past 5 years; that i will love to share; the reason for me breeding and keeping these dogs go beyond the opportuinites I see from a business point of view.
