Here are some pictures of Tracer, my 13 month old male. I would like to get some critiques on his confirmation. And if anyone has produced multiple Champions, or is a handler, or Judge, please be sure to note that along with your critique.

Why don't you enter with Tracer in a show? You can ask a judge, preferably a breedspecialist what he/she thinks about his confirmation. In a show the judge can also see his movement, an important part for a workingdog.

With kind regards,

Hannie

I have shown him twice, the first day we got dumped, the send day we got exscused as he backed away from the judge, the other exhibitors said the judge was acting funny and not to hold it against him. He is is a wonderful dog, but certainy not the specials quality dog the breeder promised him to be!

Have you asked the judge why he dumped Tracer the first day? Did the other dogs also back away from the judge the second day?

Has the breeder written down his promise that the pup would be a special quality dog? and in what way? showquality or workingquality? If he has made his promise on paper and you have paid more because of its 'quality', you may ask to get a part of the money back. But in fact a breeder can never be certain about how a pup will develop, even if both parents are first class dogs.

He is a nice dog.  I would like to see a better topline and his feet in the first picture seem to be going east-west.  I would like to see more chest.  Other than that, he looks fine.  And yes, plus in a show, a judge looks for the show gait in a sound moving dog- he needs to seem to be floating with confidence.

And yes, maybe the breeder meant he is a quality Working dog.  How are his drives and nerves?  Did he back away from the judge because he became afraid?  Is he lacking in confidence with people?  I am more for mals being used for work than show.  Tho since the 1990s I had been organizing conformation shows and have worked as a licensed ring steward in our national club (Philippine Canine Club, Inc.), affiliated with the FCI.  But then I was more into rottweilers, exhibiting, obedience training and breeding.
