Calling all Malinois People - Page 2

Im usually browsing the shepherd section since Ive have a czech shepherd but Malis intrigued me and wanted to get one so I purchased two pups a male and female not for breeding purposes but for training purposes they arent papered but parents work..Im loving them so far and they fit perfect with me as I wanted an active and faster more sharp breed and they are that..I love my shepherd he works great but wanted a harder breed.. I am now currently wanting to purchase a papered
malinois so I can know the background and pedigree not now but soon after I train these guys and get more experienced with them...I would like to have one or both trained good enough to trial in some sport as soon as I dabble in one be it PSA
(which is all I can find here no problem with it I was mainly looking to do that one) but French Ring has intrigued me also...
Cant wait to meet other mali people on here too seems there aint many...Anyone else in Cali as well??

If I had a litter available, and you were interested, and you told me you were going to do PSA, I wouldn't sell you one.  In fact, I have incorporated a clause in our puppy contract that states if you do PSA, contract is void and dog is forfeited, no refunds.

Well thats the persons choice to do what they are comfortable in...Like here theres not much to do but schutzhund or PSA
I said Im really interested in French Ring if I can find somewhere here doing that.. then when I do thats what I will dabble in with my mals...As a matter of fact I got a PM on a really hot breeding of Mals so waiting to hear back from the breeder..Not to happy about shipping one in but if I dont find another here in cali I will do that..I will contact another breeder here in Cali as well and see when they are expecting..

There are plenty of reputable Malinois breeders in California.  By shipping one in, what do you mean?  I got burned by a woman that contacted me on this board last year.  I lost $4,000 and no dog.  Be very careful when dealing with breeders overseas (especially Hungary).  You see horror stories here almost everyday about deals gone bad so be very careful.  Unless you have personal knowledge of the people you are sending money to,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,be very careful.

Thats what I was worried about Phil thats why I dont like sending money and having a dog shipped in you never know whats gonna happen alot of scammers nowadays too Thanks for the warning. thats alot of money too Im sorry that happened.. I found my 2 pups on here got lucky they were in the next town thats rare.. I also found a French Ring training place here 57 minutes away from me Thanks malndobe for the website link I found one on there !!! I just emailed him...
Now I hope we can get something started with them in that sport...

Yeah me too Im going to go out and watch them train on Sunday he said I can come out and see what its all about

I don't check this board all that often, but I usually get a chuckle or two from the GSD boards. I have 4 Mals, 2 girls, one retired male, and a  10 month old puppy male. Used to do Schutzhund, but as of late have been concentrating on Agility and herding. I will get back to bite sports of some flavor in the near future for the pupster. I live in Northern Cali between Sacramento and Tahoe.
