Bob
Do you want electric or accoustic...
The plus side of the Marshall half stack and the strat is that i might be able to bring you back to like through vibration ...altho on the down side there might be some permanant hearing loss....

I would like to go out fast, in a blaze of glory doing something heroic.
If that can't be arraigned, then I will go peacefully with no pain at home with my family.
Sometimes it takes one by surprise, so make arrangements ahead of time, like now is as good a time as any to make certain plans, communicate with loved ones.
If I have time there are a few people I might wanna take with me.....:)
Ya never know how you'll feel when the moment arises.
There are good deaths, and there are bad ones, sometimes you have the choice.
Sometimes you don't.
Live everyday as if it's your last.
Moons.

I've no intention of dying, but assuming I do, I want to be cremated and my ashes blown over my bank managers best suit!

The one thing i do want at my funeral is I always have enjoyed playing guitar as bob has aluded to. I have a recording of me playing Hendrix's 'Little Wing" I want that played at the end of my funeral at maximum volume. My whole life I have been asked to turn it down while playing. When I take the dirt nap I would be happiest if I could give everyone a headache one last time

Tears in heaven have a special place with me, 15 years ago I lost my daughter at birth and that song came out at the same time , I thought "man this guy is singing my life".
Layla... I just love that song.

I used the opening verse to "Into The West" for the opening to my father's eulogy:
Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
The night is falling
You have come to journey's end
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping
What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All Souls pass
Into the west.
I closed with Tennyson's Crossing the Bar. He was one of my dad's favourite poets.
Twilight, and evening star,
And one clear call for me,
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.
* * *
The last stanza is particularily moving:
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
The bar in the poem refers to the sandbar that's often found at the mouth of a harbour. The waves make a moaning sound when they hit the bar when a storm is coming.
My sister-in-law wants everyone to sing "Be Still, My Soul"
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow for forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
That's a pretty good choice for a Christian. I just may make the same request.
