Star successfully passed her BH today. Things did not go as well as I'd hoped. The crowd of people sitting on the sidelines distracted her, so her focus really sucked, and she sat up on the long down, but, fortunately did not move from where I'd placed her, so we still passed.
If the BH had been given a score they way they do with schutzhund obedience, she would have placed second out of the 5 dogs that trialed.
What gave me the most satisfaction was the dog that placed just ahead of her belonged to someone who told some other club members that there was NO WAY Star would pass, and she shouldn't even be in the club!
I just can't comprehend how some people can be so nasty... And for no reason I can discern, either!

Congrats.

Congratulations, SS...as for the other dog owner, ugh. Some people are just joy-vampires. Sad to be them, I think.
Just wait 'til you get Gracie to the point where she's ready for her BH--THAT'LL show 'em!
Wishing you continued good stuff...you deserve it.

Congrat! Sorry it wasn't sommther but a title is a title, how you got there and what it scored is your little secret. :D

Job well done. A lot thought my AKC CH shouldn't have a BH either, but she got hers the first time in spite of being jumped by the honor dog, a WL GSD. Ignore the naysayers and keep up the good work with Star.

Of course, it would have given me even MORE satisfaction if I'd placed AHEAD of that particular person, but unfortunately, karma like that rarely happens in real life!
Oh yeah, this morning on the club's e-mail one of the other members commented that Star's creep on the long down was the cutest... Had to chuckle at that!
Funny, I never had a problem with her breaking her down until just a few weeks before the trial!
Hexe, Gracie's muzzle order was not lifted, so I cannot work her at the club, and without being able to work her in the presence of other dogs, I dare not risk competing with her. :(

Nice, congratulations...

A BIG congratulations SS!! Sometimes it is hard to just stay focused on having fun and getting the job done; there will most likely always be those that will try to bring others down. It never makes them look better, but you can't tell them that. I am VERY happy for you!!

Why not practice with your Gracie on your own with volunteers using their dogs? Are you allowed to trial wit hthe muzzle, probly not.
