GSD training competition - Page 1

Question for you guys. I have a friend who has a protection trained GSD. She is more than that as she can track her obedience is top notch and of course she does bite work. He has decided he wants to breed her and has had her hips and elbows  done but wants to put a title on her as well before he breeds her. What would it cost (ballpark) to send her out to someone to get her a SCH 1 put on her. 

He lives way out in the boonies and the closest SCH club is 4 hrs away as an older guy (late 60's) this just isn't possible for him to do. 

He loves the dog and she has great working bloodlines (she was bred in Germany)

any help I can pass along to him about who what why where when and how much would be appreciated

Depends on who does the training, but could be anywhere from $1500-$2500/title. You'll have to remember that in order to get the IPO1, she'll first need to pass a BH, so you'll be paying for 2 titles! Also, depending on who does the training/titles, you may have to add in shipping the dog both ways.

The best bet would be to do the 4hr. drive to the club and see if they think she's capable of passing, and if she's capable, ask the club members if any of them might be willing to title her.

wow , i love to see a good trainer only as $2500 for a SCh 1 , its more in the $5000 range, that i have seen. so far my one experience with a trainer was a bad one , the trainer said he lost my dog , but i knew that he sold him , its just a gut instinct, so please really check and double check any trainer you decide to use as not all are honest.
