As long as it's Christmas Eve, when even the most jaded of us allow ourselves to wish and dream a bit . . . how would one go about buying a pup from one of the Siegers?

Has anyone actually gone direct and done it?
Would they sell an American a good dog?
What would you think it might cost?
What are the pitfalls?
Are there any in the United States?

I see alot of them on this site coming from third world countries, but something tells me that's not the way to go about it.

I went to Zamp's website and couldn't see where puppies were being sold, though it was in German and Babel Fish isn't that great.

If you will post the two websites, I'll take a look.

Have you looked at Urbecke?  I really like his dogs looks, though I don't know what their working ability is like.  He will respond to email, also.  He has a beautiful Zamp daughter.  http://www.urbecke.com/

I am not into the showlines, but I think they would sell an American a good one, though maybe not their "best "one...but sometimes the one that was not the best matures out to be super, and the one best one grows up to be not so great.

Hi Veronica, here's the site I found for Zamp http://www.grabfeldgau.com/.

I could not locate one for Pakros. Thanks!

Hi,

I have a Pakros daughter-V rated-Kkl1-A normal - I also have an Andrjuscha van Noort son that I purchased from Urbecke Kennels- Urbecke is 100%  first class all the way-they do not play around-they represent their dogs honestly and straight forward-and they expect the same from the people that they sell to-do not be the least bit leary in doing business with them-we have imported a lot of dogs from germany, both pups and adults and sadly I say, that in most cases I would rather do business with the German Breeders than anywhere else in the world!-Messina, Karthago, Cap Arkona, Malchower Aue, Lutz Tresper and John Jabina in Denmark are all top notch breeders! If you tell them what you are looking for-rest assured that is what they will provide for you.

Thanks SJD.  Hey, can I have your website link?  I'd like to see your dogs.  They sound awesome.  Did you buy your male as a pup or a young adult?

I would ask a couple of my friends in Germany to find me a top prospect from the dog(s) of my choice, then wait for the phone to ring.

Go for the Urbecke kennel! A very close friend of mine imported a female from the Urbecke kennel her name is Aba Von Der Urbecke. She is beautiful but a little lacking in the working department. They are very nice people and do not like to play around! they mean business.
