I have been involved in shepherds for over 24 years. I used to breed all-breed type show-lines and was also involved in CKC obedience, and after I purchased my last show boy, who never made it to the show ring due to numerous problems, I decided to change it up and went to working lines.
I'm finding the new lines to be more fun to work, dogs are more eager to work, more manageable and easier to live with. Harder to deal with as puppies though as they are NEVER bored, even at your expense at sometimes, once I figure out how to post videos I have a great timelapse video of a high drive puppy in action. Loving my girls.
I'm not near any working clubs, so do most of my training on my own. These girls have made tracking so easy.
Schraderhaus Pandra (Panda) at her first ever tracking trial - my very first tracking trial too!

Schraderhaus Solstice (Solstice) at her first ever tracking trial, on the same day as Panda's.

And we qualified!!! TD's on both, yeah. Not bad for my first trial and training mostly on my own with books and a bit of helpful advise from online friends.

They are now trained and ready for TDX and urban, and if I'm still doing things right should both be Tracking Champions by spring - that's the goal! Some days I am out 5 hours working with or working on tracks for the girls. Lots of work but even more fun.

Kim, I am a little confused by the comment "good timing on your post"? Are you referring to the tracking trials in October? Sadly I have to work every weekend of trials this fall through September and October, hoping to get to trails for November.
