why do i read that GSD's are not built for the knpv....being that they are heavier set dog.
yet there are malinois that are in the 80-90 lbs range that do knpv........which is pretty much what a GSD weighs in at.
the GSD body will start to break down because of their heaviness but like i said malinois at 80 plus lbs are not breaking down, why?

I'm not sure this is strictly true, the agility side to KNPV isn't particulary challenging, French Ring have bigger jumps and they have some very good GSD's. The KNPV is infamous for Handlers selling on dogs as soon as they are titled so you don't get see many older dogs competing. I'd be interested to see the health and well being of any 80lb+ dog after 8yrs of competing!
Many of the dutch KNPV dogs are tiny, and getting smaller due to the very small gene pool and unique way they manage the documentation of breedings!
The GSD is doing alright even in KNPV, for example last summer (2012) E.g Rick and Tom Verbruggen and their dogs Caro & Edo van Brandevoort !!
Caro had his first PH2 trial and he WON......only missed one point with his attack, but it was still enough to win the match with 454.
Edo had his first PH1 and got a max score of 440, so good news for the Verbruggen family and the Brandevoort GSDs.
Caro's offspring are showing great promise and he is having interest as stud around the world.

ronin what kind of gsd usually title in french ring? They usually prey monsters compared to IPO dogs? If a gsd got its ring 2 I wonder if it could go for knpv.

THere are plenty of GSD with ring 2. I'm curious what makes you think that a dog would have to have a ring 2 to compete in KNVP...please explain.
