Episode 3 is about Handler Help Faults in IPO Dog Sport and how to avoid throwing points away in big trials.
Please share it on facebook and doggy forums if you find it interesting.
As always let me know what you think :)
Thanks!
Ash.

Another useful, educational and well put-together episode;
thank you Ash. The whole body language stuff very well explained;
but what about where it isn't unconscious on the part of the
handler ? Coming from Ob rather than SchH/IPO, and not
being heavily into 'Competition', my hand signals and other
body indications (like the turned head) have always been more
deliberate than not. For someone like me, its not just becoming
aware of the 'tells', it would mean UNlearning that 'language'.
Food for thought. Maybe all hundsports enthusiasts also need
to be Poker players ?

Theres nothing wrong with using body language in general for dog training, its a hell of a lot easier for the dog to learn hand signals etc. and its vital in the early phases of puppy development but to do well in competitive IPO you need to stretch the dog a bit further for trials.
Its just one of the challenges of IPO thats overlooked, thats why its such an elegant test!
