Hello! I'm new to the sport of Schutzhund and am starting to train my 6 mos old GSD. I really enjoy the tracking part of SchH and would welcome feedback from experiences handlers who have trained a pup to their FH level. Any recommended books, DVD's etc.
Thanks a million!

Carole Patterson has a book out on tracking(the title slips my mind) Gottfried Dildei books, Cd's on tracking are good. My advice, do not think of the FH this early but take your time on the foundation of tracking. Many times this part is rushed and the dogs are rushed through the beginning stages. Find a good Schutzhund club in your area. Visit several and when you find one you like, start going and learn all you can! Enjoy it and have fun.

Check out Joanne Flemming Plumb's videos on tracking they are awesome! The best videos I have seen on tracking. Back in the 90's I went to several of Dildei's seminars and have his videos, they are good but Joanne's videos are great. Gary Patterson's books on tracking are also very good. I need to check my the books in my library, I have a lot of books on tracking but most are geared to SAR and Police K-9's.
