Police officers get top fire service bravery award

Two police officers from South Yorkshire Police who saved a man from falling 100 foot down a cliff have been awarded the fire service’s highest honour.
The man had already fallen 20 foot down the cliff onto a bush, where PC David Mason and PC Lee Corker managed to safely reach and stabilise the man until fire crews arrived with specialist rescue equipment.

MONSON — A puppy has been rescued from beneath the wreckage of a Monson home demolished by last week’s tornado.
The 25-pound, six-month-old Sharpei-Chow mix named Shadow was rescued Saturday, three days after the tornadoes struck western Massachusetts.
Police say trooper Brian Pearl crawled under a pile of splintered wood and broken glass and pulled Shadow from the rubble.

Police rescue record number of children from online paedophiles

A record number of children have been rescued from immediate danger by a specialist police unit that targets online paedophile rings, it has emerged.
More than 1,000 children have been safeguarded or protected, including 414 in the last 12 months, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre (CEOP) said as it published its annual review.

PHOENIX - Two men have been arrested after allegedly running a man off a road in Tucson, kidnapping him at gunpoint, and bringing him to Phoenix while demanding ransom from his family Thursday.
