It's been an awesome machine but the new ones are $2,100 and I just can't justify paying that much for a vacuum.
Soooo......what brand of vacuum would you recommend?
Has anyone tried the Dyson?

Here are some links to threads you may (or may not) find helpful in researching vacuums. At the very least they should get you started!

Thanks everyone for your replies........especially you zmoderator...........great reading reviews !!
The majority consensus is, buy either a Rainbow around $1600 or a Dyson Animal (new ones) around $500-600.
Our Costco has the Dyson DC25 Animal for $439 and it comes with a few extra goodies...........so I'm off to buy one

Can't wait it get it home and try it out........I know sad huh.......I'm actually looking forward to vacuuming.
I am thinking about getting the pet attachment.........anyone have one? What are your thoughts?

THIS THIN IS TERRIFIC. NO FILTERS TO CHANGE. NO BLOW OUT TINY DUST PARTICLES. NO DOGGIE SMELL FROM THE EXHAUST. IT FILTERS THROUGH WATER AND THERE IS NO BLOWOUT SMELL.
WE DID A FAVOR FOR A FRIEND . MY WIFE IS A CLEAN, CLEAN FANATIC. SHE HAS 2 VACS. I KNOW ONE IS A ELECTRO LUX AND THE OTHER BELONGED TO MY MOTHER.
MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT. HE SHOWED US HOW DIRTY OUR CARPET AND HARWOOD FLOORS WERE.
MY WIFE COULD NOT BELIEVE IT I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED!!!
I HAVE ALLEGRIES AND THEY HAVE GONE AWAY IN THE HOUSE.
EVER WONDER WHERE ALL THAT DUST COMES FROM? MOST OF IT COMES FROM YOUR VAC.
THE SALESMAN DOESEN'T HAVE TO BE A GOOD SALESMAN TO SEEL YOU ON THIS MACHINE. THE MACHINE SEELS ITSELF. YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE IT WORK TO BELIEVE HOW GOOD IT IS.
