lawntractor wont run

Started my lawn tractor this morning for the first time this season,it seemed to run realy rough,and then stalls. I went to the lawnmower dealer down the road and he said the carb jets were probably plugged. I went to the hardware store and picked up some liguid drano,aand poured in about half of cup. Now it wont run at all. Anyone hear know what might be wrong with it?

Gouda, I am no gear head expert, but every year my DH has to do the spring Lawn Mower Resurrection. Something about the gas goes bad during the winter. He usually puts in additives etc. but never has he ever used Drano. I sure hope you know what you are doing.

Yeah, anytime I'm constipated, I run out and buy Drano.

Gumout not Drano. It might be too late, that stuff may eat all the gaskets etc.

Yeah, I think so too, just asked the DH about this and he said he's got to clean out that Drano and he should have used something called Carburetor Cleaner which is a spray you find at the Auto Parts store. Gouda, I think you just did a real dumb thing...............so sorry!

P.S. Make sure you use the blue colored gas stabelizer when you store your snowblower,or your lawnmower,especially if the gas has any amount of ethenol.

Very nice one. I drain all fuel out and run carb dry. Starts first time every time. Beats any Stabil crap.
