StayCivil, It is a solid pedigree.  I agree with Duke.  I vetted a female out of Torr before taking a dog from her.  His granddaughter is here beside me as I have coffee.  Torr is not as well known as some of the podium dogs, with many of his breedings being from the local working kennels.  This is important as they were able to evaluate the dog in person (there were several breeders who responded that they only breed to dogs they have first hand knowledge of).  That is worth noting since from where they were located, they could have their female standing for most any dog in Europe in less than six hours.

The mother’s side has some very good foundation dogs.  I am not sure what many of the titles/certifications are for in the first two generations.  These appear to be local dogs so you may be able to lay eyes on them and speak with others who own or work the blood.

Elute was an excellent producer and worthy of linebreeding in my opinion.  As Duke said, he is known for some strong dogs.  Keep in mind that this can also translate into dogs who don’t get there feelings hurt.  I mention that specifically because Zar is closer up in the pedigree.  That line still has some very nice police dogs in states.  Seem to have really good noses.

The genetic potential is there, and it favors the type of dog you are looking for, but that’s no promise as individual results can and will vary.  Hope that helps.  Good luck!

Duke, she is from Dana's female Ziba with Passat. That's her as a pup on her website.

I am so grateful for everyone's responses! I am at work, but i look forward to sitting down and reading all of this later. Thanks again, it is a gift to have such a valuable resource. You don't have to take your valuable time to help me, but you are, and it is incredibly helpful. such a wealth of knowledge on this forum.

Personally, I would take a puppy from these dogs in a heartbeat, excellent pedigree for this time. You are not going to get 100% on any pedigree, however, health testing and temperament testing are my two top priorities when I look to buy. also the breeder(s) reputation to me is very important and are they biddable or negotiable. Good luck.

all I would add is that every dog/pup is an individual and anything can happen. however, I would 100% take a chance on this kennel/breeding (over sending money to unknown breeders/serbia, etc) especially after hearing from duke.

there is no way any breeder breeds perfect dogs, but this kennel has proven over the years that they are not low balling when it comes to GSD.

I have not dealt with them directly, however my Javir daughter did get to the U.S. indirectly involved with the owner.

jmo,
Rik

and to kind of paraphrase something the Captain said, better to buy the least pup from a very good breeding than the best from a poor breeding. and I know I took quite a few liberties there, but I think that advice still stands true. anyone wants to correct, feel free. :)
