Jep...I use the Medium sized Kongs and just run a rope thru the hole and tie a few knots...But I do like versatility...I like using different things on my dogs that way they don't get locked into one toy and when you go to do say Dumbbell work you won't have any problems...

If you use a kong with a rope put a washer inside the kong before the knot and the rope will never come out.

Thank you for the advices. Most people I train with use tugs as a reward. Two people of the group at the moment are using a ball on a rope as a reward but they bought them from Germany. I live in Bulgaria and the balls presented in my first post are the only balls here suitable for Sch training. There aren't Herm Sprenger balls or Julius K9(the only Julius K9 ball on rope presented in my first post is 6cm or about 2.4 inches). The biggest ball on a rope here is the red Klin Kassel from my first post and it's 6.5cm or about 2.55 inches.
I was thinking of putting the Kong on a rope but it's the best toy I have for fetch. I don't want to buy another Kong and put it on a rope because it's better to try something different.
For now I think I'll buy the 6.5cm/2.55 inches Klin Kassel. When there are more things I need and make an order from a foreign site, I will buy a nice quality 7cm ball with spikes. Do the spikes on a ball have sth to do with the grip? Can a dog play tug with a ball without spikes? The question may be stupid, but I know more experienced with tugs than balls for a reward. I'm planning on building some more tug drive in her and I think it would be easier when she tugs a ball because it's her favourite type of toy. After some time maybe she would grow to love the game and I would be able to reward her with a tug sometimes, who knows. And does the size have something to do with the grip? For an example would a 7- 7.5cm ball be better than the 6.5cm?

In case you want to transfer your dog from ball to tug, cover the ball with tug ( very firm ). Your dog will feel and smell the ball, but get used to the tug, too. Later on form a tug like a ball, using the old tug that covered the ball as inlet. the same smell, the same taste...
Fix a rope at the tug, never leave it with the dog, you are the one making the tug move...
Go from "ball" to regular tug slowly.
After a while the "form" ´shouldn´t matter any more - tug - leather - roll - sleeve...

you could check out ruffdogsports.com they have a very good selection of reward balls and tugs. They also have leather reward balls that dogs in my club seem to love.
