I would like to get your opinions on what are the best shampoos/bodyfiers/finishers that you use on your GSD coat in AKC show ring. My boy is fully out of coat and I'm looking for well performing products to fluff him up a bit....

One of the best products i used for any breed of dog was Best Shot
http://www.bestshotpet.com/category/dog-shampoo-dog-hair/

This products is very light, gets the dog very clean and when used in conjuction with the conditioner and spray will leave the dog clean, light and nicely fluffed out. It also gets out dead/shedding coat like nothing else! I use it when dogs were blowing coat and it was like magic. Rub the conditioner into the coat and the hair came away by the handfulls. (i rinsed it out to prevet over conditioning and because i don't want anything left on my customers pets when they leave.)
Used with a power blower to dry the coat and i could remove nearly every loose hair without brushing the dog.
Worked wonders on huskies, shepherds, goldens and other double coated breeds.
Made poodles look like a million bucks because it made fluff drying much faster and easier.
Never had a dog react to this product, very light minty scent. Does not weight down the coat change color or strip out the natural oils. It just gets them really clean and helps cut the natural static that make under coat stick.
I was always happy using this stuff and it didn't bother my skin either.
You can buy a sample pack for a reasonable price and a little goes a long ways with this product.
Best of luck with your dog.

One thing to watch out for in shampoos and conditioners are those that make a dog "drop" it's coat, or shed excessively.  A long time ago I did Mane n' Tail shampoo and conditioner for awhile, I had to stop using that stuff because it made the dogs shed so much.

My personal favorite shampoo for German Shepherds isn't an actual shampoo, it's Murphy's Oil Soap.  It's great for light cleansing, I find it adds luster and enrichens color better than most other dog shampoos.  It rinses out super-easy and the dogs hold their coats great.
Murphy's Oil soap is not ideal for a really filthy dog though.
It's very gentle on sensitive skin too.  My first GSD had skin allergies and was very sensitive to shampoos, she would itch so badly after bathes even with stuff marketed for super-sensitive skin and hypo-allergenics.  When I tried the Murphy's Oil Soap on her it was wonderful, she didn't shed, flake or scratch at all.

I also really like the Kenic coat products, particularly the Kenic Kalaya Emu Oil spray, great for every-day use to give a dog's coat great texture and luster.

If the dog has any kind of skin problem I use Eqyss Micro Tek shampoo.

Bathe a GSD the day before a show, and on the day of the show use a misting bottle with water or non-greasy coat spray (like Kenic Kalaya Emu Oil spray) lightly over the coat so that it fluffs out.  You can use a pin brush to help the fluffing, but really it's the light moisture in the coat that does the fluffing best.
The other must-have tool for fluffing a dog's coat and making it look great is a heavy-duty blower.
