Hank,
Here it is.....Conversely, the Matthean λεμα seems closer to the Aramaic, while the Markan λαμα appears closer to the Hebrew, although this minor variation of the vowel may be accidental and both vowel patterns are present in Aramaic
."Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani
"I believe this was a very powerful thing he said as was everything he said while on the cross.
I interpret it as him saying to both man and angel.......why have you forsaken me? Third of the Angels fell from heaven.
And the first shall be last.
Mark said Eloi.....Mathew said Eli.

Everyone must suit themselves regards there religion or lack of it as in my case and good luck to them whatever path they choose to follow i am happy for them.
However i am not a believer and i never have been, But i still lead a fair life not only for myself but in helping others along the way if i can,
For me that is all i need to be, I know we are Born and i know we will all Die. What happens then none of us living knows,
However i do know that in every body there is a Spirit or something, Because i felt a friends pass out of him and right throgh my body as i held his Hand in a not so nice place to die many many years ago as he passed away,
I have never forgot that feeling to this very day as something went from him through me, and for a split second i went Ice Cold and Shivered. then all was back to normal except for my mate laying on the ground

Sthal,
What does this mean in translation to you....
"Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani
"you are flooding this OT forum and not responding....Slow down I only would like to see
1-2 topics at the most....I think you will have trouble with one,
don't bite off to much this is not a Religious site.
I prayed on this, and I have changed my mind... I think it is
My God, My God why have you forsaken me....The reason is
peculiar but makes sense if you are at the end of your journey here in
this life time... God did not abandon his son,.. only
fulfill the prophecies and saved the human race from destruction.
We can only be thankful...the understanding is with God.

Steve1,
Your experience was a spiritual one.
For me it was on my death bed I cried out to God...and said
if there is anything left of my life, it is yours to do with as you please.
I was healed at that moment.....As God is my witness this is the truth.
However I did not keep my side of the bargain and went a stray. To this
day I am still trying to make my way to wild horse lake to fulfill my promise.
I am a sinner without neat excuses.

Max none of us keep our side of the bargain! It is not a bargian anyway! It is a gift! All that is required of you now is obedience and love to him! He will do the rest! we can not !

Max
It is no good preaching to me, i do know or want to know what you are talking about.
I live my life my way i do not interfere with anyones religion and i do not expect those who think differently to me to try and change my way of thinking.

Raymond...
Very true... it is my time to fulfill my promise ...Saddle up Nicky with my dogs and
go to the mountains. Wild Horse lake is a little lake that sits on top of the Stein mountains
in Oregon.....leave behind the workings of this world and meditate on the Lord.
A side note...the guy who wrote the song amazing grace was a slave trader.
He was ship wrecked at sea. As he went farther down into the water he knew he was
a goner. And out of all the people the Lord saved him....hence the song amazing
grace.....This has been a beacon for sailors all over the world. They have a Christian
Organization in Europe

Steve1,
Not to worry, it is not an insult....Tennessee Ernie ford used to say it back in the
day.
The post means I do not want to change your mind.....I have to work on my
mind.....and don't have the time.....If some one is working on you it
sure is not me.....I thought it might be the Lord, but you are the expert on you.
Regards....You old fart.
