possible effects of linebreeding on jeck --- --the same as with most but not all linebreeding : just plum ruining the breed of what the GSD should be --- listen carefully --- the purpose of line breeding is to recapitualte and to keep within the offspring the desirable genes/traits that are present in the parents ---and at times this is ok .. to perpetuate a physical or behavioral trait ---- but what is often overlooked and SIGNIFICANTLY and most impportantly is that ALL the ADVERSE genes /detrimental genes are simultaneously kept and intensified too ---so would you breed to your aunt , uncle or cousin??? amoungst humans this is taboo ... and for logical gentetic reasons -- a line breeding here or there ..ok -- but this repetatve and constant unnceasing line breeding with the selfish intention to breed the $300,000 to $500,000 GSD [ and that is what it comes down too ] is just a digrace !! there is no perfect dog or person nor will there ever be --- .. as a matter of fact a good outcrossing has value just as well and maybe more value .. and so does a controlled diverse genetic mating pair with variation -- -- you have to study genetics to comprehend this -- i wish the SV would put a halt to the # of line breedings and the politics as the SHOW LINE GSD is/ has become filled with gentic / heriditary ills so much so that the that the gsd is just about ruined to the point of unrepairable -- -- interesting -- with all the high end GSDs ... you mean to say that there cannot be anyone to come up with pair matings to produce a healthy , well balanced , gsd within the standard ?? and please --if you read the standard ... see what is being produced and compare the gsd to what is was historically --- you would be astonished and perhaps ashamed - so -in my personal opinion look for a nice outcroos breeding and if you breed -- for heavens sake --- jump off the merry go round and breed healthy gsd -- by the way i love the breed .. just about 10 of my GSD hace Jeck in the pedigree --- several have gentetic flaws that shouild never exist --don't let even the cream of the crop breeders in the world bull..... you otherwise

You can't just place blame upon Jeck because "several" of your dogs have "genetic flaws that shouild never exist." Just because he is in the pedigree, does NOT mean he is the reason for those problems. Check back in your pedigree, and I'll bet you find Canto or Quanto Wienerau too. Those were also excellent dogs that were heavily line bred on, and you see them in almost every GSD. Does that mean that any problem came from them? No, I think not. You may attack me for what I have said here, but this is truth. There is no problem linebreeding, so long as you research the good as well as bad that could come from your linebreeding. Check the dog that you want to linebreed on, research it, look at it's Korung, see what it's problems were, and it's strengths. Then look at the dog you're planning to breed. Does it have those same problems, minor though they may be? Does it not? Each linebreeding is an individual query. you should look at the individuals you plan to breed as just that-individuals. You cannot knock ALL of them based upon some assumption you have come to. This is MHO. Take it or leave it. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH!!!
