I have a generally well behaved Hungarian import female, age two. She just gets so happy and exhuberant in the house that she bumps into us HARD. This is NOT when she is playing, but usually occurs as she is walking around the house with us. She seems unaware that she is injuring and bruising us. We are adult women of 45, 5'6 and near 200 pounds, however she nearly knocks us over at times

The best piece of advice I could give you is to "control" her when she's in the house until she understands that is what is demanded of her when she's in the house...Does she stay in the house or only visits?...By control I mean keep her on a leash in the house for short periods of time until she's under control...

Firstly, thank-you for replying. The dog always lives in the house. She does not "JUMP" on people, she just sort of "CHARGES" through and like "SHOVES" or "PUSHES". Like she runs by and runs into us to get where she is going, or gets herelf between us and furniture or doorways, bumping us out of her way.

If she shoves or pushes or bumps you out of the way..She is showing you that she is the alpha. Meaning leader of the pack.Dogs are not humans and they think in a wild pack sense as if they were in the wild.If you love her which I am sure you do.Take these steps.Put her in a kennel and do not let her just run about.Feed her only there within the kennel. She will learn to respect you as provider.I am not saying to keep her in the kennel..but feed her there. When she comes out of kennel..do not let her run free about.Put a snug leather collar on her with a leash to go through your house.Let her drag the lead.If you take her outside..do not let her run free.Let her drag the lead. When she pushes you or bumps you even with the lead attached to her..Do not push her back. She will probably push you more.Instead..turn away from her and walk away. When she becomes comfortable with collar and lead then pick up the lead and walk her.
