I am disappointed over Japan's "scientific whale harvesting" each year, now to find out this too...

When I opened PDB just now a black Tosa Inu dog was displayed. I did not know they came in black. So I started an internet search for black Tosa Inu, only to find out dog fighting is still very much a legal sport in Japan.

Japan is far from the only country that has legal dog fighting, so I am not singularly pointing my finger at Japan. Yes, I know illegal dog & cock & God only knows what else fighting goes on here in the USA.

I have never been to a dog fight, It was pretty common in the part of the U.S. I grew up in. A high school friend went to one with his dad and was unbelievable what he described.

dogs ripped open with internals falling out, genitals ripped off, he was pretty upset. I knew it was something I never wanted to see.

It wasn't until it became a felony that any kind of grip was gotten on it, as the edit Michel Vick case showed.

Have never been to a live dogfight but have seen quite a lot of videos - some edited, some with the gory bits still in. Not edifying. It is rightly illegal here too. Some fools will indulge in anything for the sake of being able to bet on it; and for the sake of their own ego.

I find it disturbing/disgusting that people would pit animal against animal in a 'ring', just to bet on it and satisfy some ego inadequacies.
