Hi..Dawnmarie As long as it concerns with the individual dog itself (suppose a VA female/male), it is in my belief no SV Judge will put her behind others anywhere around the world. This has nothing to do with her/his ability to produce offsprings!! You know that VA represents the highest standards of the breed by SV, believe me: not every SV Judge agree with the dogs who granted VA titles, but suppose they judge these dogs in other occasions neither will they put these dogs behind other. VA can be beaten only by VA again. They have the code of obligation to hold high the Siegershow result in relation with Nationpride, we all know Germany is famous of this spirit. Back to your comment about capability to produce from top females, only a small number of VA females able to produce a high quality of VA males/females in the history of the breed since 1899. In recent years we saw some increasing number of VA females producing VA males/top V males i.e. Siegerin Connie Farbenspiel (Yasko/Solo), VA Beaury Haus Kirura (Bax), VA Wendrina Kahler Heide (Ghandi), Siegerin Karma (Pakros), VA Karat's Olly (Yoker),etc but overall there are/were still too many great producer don't/didn't make top placing in Siegershow i.e. Vienchen Arlett, Alke Noort, Dasti Farbenspiel, Xena Wattenscheid, Nancy TweelerLand, Hilka Monchberg, so on ..and if you look further in the list of VA males/females or Top V you will find many great mothers not very known in the ring. So what I am trying to say, their top placing not a guarantee of a succesfull breeding, infact you yourself must realize how many dogs which had been sold to other countries could come back and compete their offspring in Germany??? Remember the great Odin Tannenmeise?? he stayed long in Japan so in that time there were many stocks of Odin offspring in Japan but could these offspring buy their ticket of top V back in Germany?? For these reasons, I think all of you in America should at least be proud to have Steffen Haus Kennel and Wilhendorf Kennel, they both represent the success of American Breeding in Germany even it comes in very expensive way of breeding not to mention bringing back dogs Germany-USA vv. I suppose they will gladly tell you how their struggle of gaining top titles in Germany..simply buying top stocks is not the answer. So Dawnmarie, my friend..keep up the good work on breeding GSD and in short time (uh..when luck comes) you will have your stock of top V but remember if the dogs ahead of you in the ring is VA or Top V German just smile and have a wide open heart, ok?
