I contacted the shipping agent and was given the same quote of 1630 euros.
Here is the interesting thing though: I was told by the seller that the reason the price went up so high was because the seller had to change the flights so the dog would not have to spend 48 hours in the crate.
As suspected by all of us, this has now been proven to be a lie. The flight schedule I was sent by the shipping agent is the exact same flight schedule that I was given and told the dog was going to stay in the crate overnight. The dog was never going to stay in the crate overnight. She did not have to find new flights. The fact is that she gave me a very inaccurate quote from the beginning which is what we hinged our decision to purchase the dog on. She knew from the very first emails, before I ever sent any money, that the dog needed to be shipped into Seattle. My money should be refunded.
From the email I received this morning from STLC:
"As per our mails today thanks to find hereafter our costs for the dog in ref (15month old) – for your info we haven’t any direct flight from Paris to Seattle, quotation via Frankfurt (1night in animal lounge)
Travel crate varikennel 40x27x30 in 210.00 Eur
Costs from Paris CDG airport to Seattle airport 1420.00 Eur
(include : our CDG assistance, export customs, airfreight & taxes, 1 night boarding Frankfurt)
Flight possibility :
Flight LH 1041 every Tuesday CDG 6.00 pm Francfort 7.10 pm
+ Night animal lounge
+ Flight LH 490 every Wednesday Frankfurt 10.35 am SEATTLE 11.50 am (local time)
Delivery of the dog in our CDG office day of departure at 2.30 pm

Take a look at the invoices.
I guess ( and that´s a guess only ) right now she is trying to sell the dog to someone else, simply to get the money for you.
Another guess - she didn´t know about the prelims, just became aware of it - or she x-rayed her by herself, in hope to get more money this time.
I might be blonde, but in this case I guess you´ll get your money back as soon as the dog is sold again.
It´s a shitty situation, both seller and buyer were misinformed ( vaccines, crate, flight ).
Good luck!

As for how do I know about OB ( I assume this is for other people). Daniel himself said he did this to another buyer who bought a female named Ollie. I have as of today received emails for the person who says he was the buyer of the dog Ollie and he was taken for $1100 by Daniel.
If I was upset it may have been the long delay in responding to my complaint by PDB. I do understand you are actively looking at the information but again haven't heard anything as of yet.
Anyone that has been scammed will be glad to hear about added security. I am willing to jump through hoops to protect my money if its available.

1) When I first asked for information about the dog, the seller told me that she had already bought the dog back from the owner. Later she said that she used my money to buy the dog back. That was the first lie. That may have led to the problems with the vaccines and the crate size, but if she had not lied in the first place, that would not have been an issue.
2) She was told that I needed a flight into Seattle from my very first response. She responded that a direct flight to my nearest international airport (Seattle), crate included, would be 1090 euros. According to the shipping agent that she gets her quotes from, there are no direct flights into Seattle. There have never been any direct flights into Seattle. So, that was lie #2.
3) If she had any intention on selling the dog to get me my money, she had plenty of opportunity to respond to my emails and work that out with me. I have not heard one word from her since I asked for a refund. This lack of communication is why I have chosen to go public. I would have been more than happy to work out some kind of deal with her, but she chose not to talk to me.
4) A friend of hers that claims to be privy to all of the communications regarding this transaction got on Facebook to let me know that there will be no refund and that the seller does not issue refunds on dogs.
5) Two other people that have come forward on Facebook have confirmed that they had bad experiences with her and were unable to get a refund.
I honestly do not see how there is any proof that the seller was misinformed about anything. If you sell and ship dogs for a living, you should definitely know whether a dog you have listed for sale has the necessary paperwork for international travel and you should know what size crate the dog would need before getting a quote for shipping. This was not a case of simple misinformation. She was deceptive from the very beginning.

I will not take blame for someone having poor character and being unethical in business. She has the dog and the money and will not communicate with me. This is obviously not someone that is interested in working something out. I have no sympathy for her at all.
I have imported many dogs from many different sellers and have never had an experience like this. The problem is not with me.

Do not report it to Olaf (Oli). Oli DOES NOT run the site on a daily basis. So, reporting it to Oli could take a month or two for him to even read the email. Cindi, Oli has even told you he does not check the emails for this site very often that is why he has admin so the advice you just gave is way off base and will lead members to get frustrated when Oli doesn't answer back in a week or four.
You have been asked to provide proof before your request is granted. You write another admin or 2 demanding to know when you will be provided the info you ask for, then you come on this thread and you completely give bad advice. I am the only one that can provide you with the info you have asked for but the catch appears that you will not provide proof. Oli could provide you with the info you are asking for but I have told him not to until you provide me proof. I suggest you follow through with your end of it and then you will have the info you have asked for. Otherwise you are spinning your wheels.
