I don't think his book is about God or Christianity, and believe the value, FWIW, lies in the fact that an accomplished individual in the scientific community has come to an interesting metaphysical viewpoint using sound method. Please, VK, try to open your mind, at least a bit, lest you suffer from the same myopia as those whose company you so adore.  Almost everything we know through science today has been gained through induction, rather than deduction.

If his brain was functional enough to come back fully, he wasn't dead, period.  It's evident that his brain didn't die and come back, like the dead flower in ET.

Lol...I'm quite confident a neurosurgeon is quite versed in what constitutes both death and brain death Travels.

Don't know how you would classify it, but he did say he developed nine different hypostheses to explain the event, based on his knowledge of the workings of the brain.

by vk4gsd on 20 November 2013 - 18:11

or he used his professional knowledge of the brain to  make up some popularist horse-shit to appear like science, dunno personally.

Vk - that's entirely possible, but I'd question motive given the man's accomplishment, station, background, and overall profile.  Just interesting is all.  If it weren't for the credibility, it would be a lot easier to dismiss.

Although I believe in an after life, I do not believe this doctor.   Since the he(neurosurgeon) had experienced a grand mal seizure just prior to his coma, maybe he was hallucinating.  Check this out:  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2660156/ .

For all you fine outstanding Christians out there, in this article is a prime example of your BS, what it does to people and WHY there should be a seperation of church and state. Had he burned a cross on my son's arm, he'd damn sure have more to worry about then being fired. The (insert a number) ________ coming of the same old Calvary and SOS/DD. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/11/20/creationist-science-teacher-fired-oh/  Sorry for some reason it won't make a clickable link. Someone?

gg - I'm not sure I "believe" in him any more than you do, or buy into anything in particular that he offers.  There are certainly any number of possibilities, any number of which he, if anyone, would be aware of.  That is where the value lies  IMO, given the scientific approach, and assuming he is not fraudulent.
