PDb is the wide ocean.... And it never hurts at all to be polite and practice good etiquette when you want swim among whales and other big fish who rarely open their mouths except when they need to feed on their next meal

VK4

I will cut you all of the slack you want......but stop being an ass. I love to train, ( I even train crap dogs for and with people that love their dogs and love to train) I believe that if someone will show up and try, the least I can do is give them all of the help I am able to give. What I do not like is a big mouth know it all or someone that never has a good thing to say. I learn every week from dogs and other trainers and sometimes a newbie.  So please be nice.

We had a visitor come out to our club last Sunday and preceded to tell some of the people how lousy their dogs were and how bad the new decoy was. I invited him to bring his dog out. Well I ran him off the field. Then he said he wanted to work my dog in a bit suite, he should have worn a cup.  He went home. Maybe he will come back with a better attitude or a better dog.

My point is, it is all about attitude. If you want to be treated like shit just talk more shit. If you want to start over I will start with...... Hello my name is Paul Garrison I love to train dogs but my favorate type of dog is hard, civil, aggressive man stopping, anti social beast of a dog. At the time I have 3 dogs that are good dogs but not what I describded, but 2 good protection dogs and 1, 9 month old puppy that is coming along real nice. Have a great day!

hey man no sweat. what concerns me is that you think i have been mean to someone regarding their dog? i believe i have never bad mouthed someones dog in training or conformation. correct me if am wrong. the topics i bad mouth people on are general breed politics or in OT which i feel is fair game. if i have commented on training or conformation i am careful to be constructive or ask clarification of what i am seeing if i am in disagreement. if you seen otherwise please let me know. cheers.

The problem with "fair game" is everyones line in the sand is different. When you attact someone it is kind of like war and all is fair in love and war.  Several times you responded to posts I have made talking shit. All that does is provoke, and there is no need in that. You should go back and look at what and how you responed to my posts. I believe you will see what I am saying. My type of dog is very different then most peoples bite dogs. But I have a real job for my dogs that makes them way different then pets or sport dogs. I see some real quality you some of your dogs.

I get dogs quite often that look real good, hard aggressive ect. until pushed then you see all of the weakness, flaws and bad training.

Keep training and listen I think you can learn and you and your dogs will be better for it.

Do you have a training table? I have some suggestions to get you dog off the sleeve and on the man.

by vk4gsd on 14 May 2014 - 01:05

Don't have one but that is one thing i won't attempt unsupervised. i seen some pros do it well eg stukka but the potential for disaster is out of my comfort zone.

Paul the back ground to the vid i didn't state. the decoy got knocked on his ass and grabbed the wall with an unprotected arm over the dogs head i jerked the dog out of range with a mouthful of sleeve.

normally i have the decoy pick up another sleeve and come straight back on the dog.

the dog auto outs good most of the time for a re attack. let me at least do a session and post that if you want to give some pointers i would appreciate.

table is fair enough for live supervision, not gonna try it via internet coaching, just don't have the nerve.

i gotta live with the mistakes.

I would love to see it.  A table is very easy to teach the hold and bark and apply pressure on the dog, but it also stops people from towering over your dog. As well as a world of other things.  A great tool. If you can read a dog well you will not have a problem with it. I hope you can find some guys to train with in the future. I drive 2 1/2 each way to train every week and it's worth every minute of it.
