Paid $50 for the Weaver grand slam rings and bases for the 700. That's kind of why it bothers me the rings are too low. $30 wasted if I change to med height.

I have Weaver scopes, never had a problem with them, but my favorite is the Redfield 3-9x40mm for deer, Leupold bought them out but so far has not tried to change the product, Great quality and made in America, great price too.
I'd say the price of different rings would be worth it just for the correct function.

No, you don't Abhay, it would be filled with 30 something year old housewives bored, running in and out my door, doing various dumb crap.. Although yesterday, a fight over a cell phone ended up with someone getting bit, a shirt being removed and goats milk getting squirted out on them, straight from the booby, as they wrestled around in my horse trailer over the phone.. Bored, boozed up housewives.. and livestock
