It's simple really, if you want to be forgiven, make sure you are forgiving!

I loved the movie Gladiator.  I love all movies where the good guys win.

Well, Chaz/Don it seems that forgiveness deal can get a little tricky for some. Some get the hang of it right quick, others well, keep getting tripped up over and over and over again. I need clarification on the exact number of redeemed souls to be awarded the "soul winners crown", matter of fact I didn't even know they were handing them out!

Gladiator is on Cable somewhere 24 hrs a day, all men love it, I think!

1THESS.2:19-20
The crown was a wreath worn by the winner of an athletic contest and used for other times of rejoicing. The official visit of a King or ruler was frequently described with the phrase AT HIS COMING.  The Christians converts would be my reason for rejoicing at Christs return.

Hope this explains it a bit more clearly for you Beetree.

 Have a nice evening

Hello Bob

I live in Norwood Ontario Canada.  I do not attend a Baptist Church.I prefer to be known as a Bible believing blood bought child of God.

Thanks Gouda, Not that I really believe you will actually be wearing one (of those crowns), but if you do, I'm okay with that, too!

Take care, I wish you clear skies this evening and throughout the night.

This thread is rather sad.  I am a Christian and I think both sides are just throwing stones at each other.  Please, be careful.  I will quote scripture because I think all of us need to ponder this:  "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken.  For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." Matthew 12:36-37.    Wow!  Jesus said that and I take it very seriously, especially the part about "careless words."  None of us are perfect and we need to be careful about what we say/write to each other.

Ladyfrost
You got it right,

Raymond
I do not care what your religion is that is for you, and you only, I do not mock what others believe in, i never have, What i do not like is people who have some kind of faith to think they can push it down other peoples throats, But worse still to me is that some think they are better than the people who think differently than they do, That is a sin in its self i would think because as i have said so many times People to me are equal no matter what religion they practice or lack of like myself or what colour they are or how rich or poor they are.
I judge people on there MERITS no other way now time for bed it is 1 oclock in the morning we had a great training session tonight Gina was on Fire in Protection.
Whatever religion you guys practise i wish you well and may your God go with you

ggturner  could I explain the scripture verse you are using! That verse is applied to unbelievers and unbelievers only! will those who are saved by grace stand in front of God at Judgement ?No they will not! If I stand before god at judgement to be judged by my deeds that have been forgiven then everything Jesus stands for is invalid! My words are these repent and believe the gospel !  Make your path straight and  serve the Lord! Be instant in season and out of season! Reprove and rebuke the evil doer ! do not be a partaker  of the sin they practice! I am the worst of evil men and have been shown the wickedness of my former ways! I hate the life I once lived !

Raymond, I hate to disagree with you about judgement day.  As Christians, we are saved, but our works or lack therof will be judged.  Don't take my word for it though, check out this forum on this topic--Dr. Walter, a Baptist minister explains it much better than I could (I'm not Baptist by the way):  http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=70090 .

ggturner all I can say is this!It is not a matter of disagreement! Each person who has repented and  accepted the Lord Jesus as savior  will not stand in front of God on judgement day! Jesus Christ  took our punishment upon himself on the cross! As born again Christians, we are indeed saved by grace through the work of Christ and will not be judged for our sins unto condemnation.
Eph 2:8, Rom 8:1                                                         this judgement is totally different than the bema seat of Christ!  Christians will be Judged acording to the works they did to promote the gospel of Christ and not judged according to the works of sin!  Only those who have rejected  Jesus will be standing at the white throne judgement to be judged by the works they have done! Murderers, fornicators, liars, adulterers, thiefs, and all those who practice wickedness!  Again theri is no disagreement  simply a lack of understand the scripture!  Judgement day = white throne  judgement after the  millenial kingdom and  satan and death cast into the lake! then the judgement seat of God where all who have died unrepentant will be judged and cast into the lake of fire! No Christian who is a true follower of Christ will ever stand in that place! I have already died in Christ and been ressureced to newness of life in the spirit!
