Why? He is right -
Till a couple of years ago a sable was a no go for "normal" German Shepherd hobby owners, they only wanted the black and red dog, for some years now more and more people are asking for the " dark sable ", and the breeders do follow.
Same with DDR / KNPV - for years the brand name "DDR" was the best marketing tool for working line breeders, now it´s the term KNPV.
Breeders will satisfy the consumers as they always did ...

Well Susie do you have experients with the KNPV PROGRAM which dogs and breeders do you know and see for real life , have you ever certified a PH-1 dog?
What are you training which dogs and pedigree ?
by johan77 on 04 January 2014 - 13:01
KNPV is done in holland, hence naturally many GSDs will never do it even if they could. I don´t think it´s any special with the GSDs doing KNPV,a good dog is a good dog and that seems true for the KNPV GSDs which either are 100% from none KNPV-dogs or some have one or a few KNPV-titled dogs behind them in the pedigree.

No, BlackMalinois, as I already mentioned several times, I am German, and I grew up with Schutzhund and Police dog training. I started 34 years ago, titled several dogs in SchH and trained several dogs for the American police during the eighties. I never participated on Regionals or Nationals, I am just a woman spending time with her dogs. Is this enough for you, or do you need my credit card number, too?
Please, read Johan´s post above. I second it 100%.
A good IPO dog is a good dog, and a good KNPV dog is a good dog.
KNPV is very trendy right now, that said, people want to buy this kind of dog, as a result a lot of dogs will get their titles, and a lot of dogs will be bred, plain and simple.

Johan 777 do you think you can every titled IPO dog certified for PH-1, don,t you think the GSD breeders will select some special bloodlines ?
I,m wondering most of the comments coming from people without any training , knowledge from the KNPV program breeders and dogs outside Holland !!!!!

Forgot to mention: I like KNPV, I am not against the Malinois, so what´s your problem at all?

by BlackMalinois on 04 January 2014 - 14:01
Well Susie if you not have any experients with the KNPV dogs, KNPV program , breeding I can not take you serious what are you talking about
Kennel names like Gardefense, Blitse Dune , Haus Ming , Tiekerhook, Hornhutte, are specialised in Black Sable GSD for many years in KNPV !

Thank you so much BlackMalinois
I love bossy men - enough for me, I never trained a dog in KNPV, so I am not welcomed in this thread ... (although, actually I was a spectator on some trials, is this enough for you ? )
EVERYBODY THINKING ABOUT POSTING HIS / HER THOUGHTS IN THIS THREAD, ONLY DO SO, IF YOU HAVE TRAINED OR ACTUALLY ARE TRAINING IN KNPV.
OTHERWISE STAY AWAY, EVEN IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL TRAINER FOR POLICE OR ARMY, WORLDCLASS COMPETITOR IN SCHUTZHUND OR ANYTHING ELSE, ALL OF THIS DOESN`T COUNT IN THE TUFF KNPV WORLD OF BLACKMALINOIS.
Once again, this was my statement: "Till a couple of years ago a sable was a no go for "normal" German Shepherd hobby owners, they only wanted the black and red dog, for some years now more and more people are asking for the " dark sable ", and the breeders do follow.

Take a look at the breed statistics...

Susie you don,t know anything about the KNPV dogs and breeders what I said before you have not any knowledge breeding GSD for KNPV.
by Ibrahim on 04 January 2014 - 14:01
So if someone does not train in KNPV it means he/she knows nothing of value to share in this thread? If a person trains in IPO he/she is not credible in dog training discussion? Susie said she trained few dogs for Police, you said KNPV is a tool to train and choose dogs for Police !!!!!!!!
