Well said Steve,
What Sue says is very true I will never be able to understand why ALL cant take pleasure from the others who enjoy this breed despite the fact they may derive their enjoyment of the breed through different avenues. The breed is meant to be capable of coping with all manner of activities, that the glory and the wonder of it's versatility. Be glad the many varied aspects of its abilities to adjust be it workability, tractability or sheer huggability still exists and glory in it rather than desparage it
Also
Their love is unconditional, can't help who owns them, or what path in life is chosen for them, it 's their versatility that sets them apart from other breeds. It should be about owning the Best Breed in the world and enjoying the path you wish to take and making it the best dog ever, whether that be Show, Work, Agility, or Family pet etc. Joyce .

So i am telling a lie, why would i do that, but I will tell you this, the first Showline Shepherd i ever saw, was a double world Champion, belonging to Robert Venus, Belgium, He is a pigeon Fancier and i was visting him in the early 1980's when i saw this G.S and i said to Robert at the time and i remember it well
I said to him he is rather low on the hind quarters, does he have a joint problem, He said No' he is a twice world champion Show shepherd, he did say his name but that escapes me now, then he showed me his breeding females,
That is as much as i know about Showlines which is not much, I may have seen the word Zamp bought up on the forum but never as far as i know read about it or posted on a thread other than the one in question, I may be wrong but i do not think so
Regarding this dog i am talking about perhaps some of you Showline fanatices can tell me the name of the dog i am talking about, you should remember it if you are as keen as your postings suggest

Hm... The, ahem..."ultimate" German Shepherd is a dog that:
Wins BSZS (or places very high, not necessarily wins)
Wins BSP or a WUSV competition (or places very high, not necessarily wins)
is KKL1 for life
gets along great with its owner/handler and that encompasses all that it entails
is a willing, happy worker
is healthy in truest sense of the word
has a nice, healthy coat, regardless or color
has excellent hips and elbows and last but not least
is able to give all these traits to its progeny.
That is the ultimate German Shepherd Dog. We haven't seen the likes of him since the days of Bernd and Bodo Lierberg and today or tomorrow doesn't look so promising either. The guy shown up is an excellent showline dog.

Liz, thank you for championing Zamp in this thread, as I said to you once before, quality will always out, and Zamp is my hero! Each to their own, but when quality of this degree is on show, it breeds envy, and envy talks rubbish! Zamp is the ultimate, and he will be remembered long after many of todays cheap champions have won their titles, both through his progeny and his presence.

Some of you must know, you keep putting out the merits of the showline Shepherd, how good are your memories or do you take as much notice of what goeson in the shows as you make us others believe you do

Now, Steve, how come Degens and Nena were not in the Belgian qualifiers?
