Let me say this,"ON GUARDIND INSTINCT",

I have only "JUST BEGAN, TRAINING" ,my dog(s).(for schutzhund). Walk in my yard when it is light outside, and I am "UP and ON my feet" , you will be met with with the expected bark, hair up on the back, giving a sturn warning.

Walk in my yard,"After Dark", 'OR', while I am laying down,"AND YOU BETTER EXPECT TO BE BIT, (Bitten, chewed up, chew on, OR chewed OFF, whatever CHEWING a Family member German Shepherd will give you).

My dogs ARE, "pack members", they are LOYAL to me, SAME AS I AM LOYAL TO THEM!!!!!!!

YOU GET BACK, WHAT YOU PUT IN!!!!

I can go to Sleep "ANY NIGHT" of The Week, NOT lock, or even close my doors, and not have a SECOND THOUGHT, as to (WHO, Or IF?????), some one is coming in!

     I LOVE MY GERMAN SHEPHERDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the dog is aloof with a slight bit of suspicion But there is NO barking. what is the signifcation? The same dog when trained to protect barks and attacks when perceived with threat

hey Vikram explain this and tell me also what do you think being aloof is and how it is connected with suspision and is it has to do with no barking.u r talking about different things here and all over the place. explain.

I finally have a dog with a clear head. He at just over 2 yo and has demonstrated he knows when to give the big boy bark. I can tell when he wants to alert me to danger, because it is deep and does not stop until I am there to address the situation. He talks conversationally with the yips and yups but the other night, something just wasn't right. He was at the front windows, I was in bed, and he never barks for no reason. His tone was meaningful and I got up to check it out, only then, when I said okay and checked out all the windows, did he stop. Was someone out there?

I think someone was out there, perhaps too close for comfort.

My other two, past dogs, both rescues, well, one clearly was a prey monster; of course I didn't even know the term then, you should have seen the bruises up and down my arms! The other, separation anxiety extreme, and we always said of him, he bites first and asks questions later.

I used to always go with rescues, never cared for a pedigree, never knew of the show/work split, until I had such horrendous ordeals dealing with the left overs of the GSD world and when we found Mojo in (gasp) the petstore.....yes I know, NOW,  but we were devastated when our black boy fell ill and we had to release him from his pain. God how we can't stand being dogless.

Mojo also grew up with loads of construction workers coming to the house and spoiling him with egg bits and bacon and fun games of fetch. Still he knows he's my boy, and is always looking up to me for approval. I have no doubt he knows what his teeth are for even without a stitch of bitework.

Please accept this as "pet" perspective and not competitive sport perspective.

I just wonder sometimes, where my next GSD will come from, lol, making the grade here is pretty RUFF! lol
