Two Moons

by Two Moons on 11 June 2009 - 19:06

What if you were starving?
Could you eat the dog if your life depended on it?
Hey, I'm just wondering how bad it could get when the end comes.

chew on that...LOL

by beetree on 11 June 2009 - 19:06

It was an ABC news type special, (last week) or something like that. And the dog sure looked like a GSD to me, a white one at that! Or maybe it was a sable, tough to tell from just an artist's rendering.

And Moons, that was the "bad" scenario. It doesn't have to go that way. Of course, if countries keep biting their noses off to spite their "races" it doesn't look so good for anyone. You definitely don't want to be stuck in Las Vegas, though when the taps run dry, that's for sure. I love all the water we get in New England, that's all I can say.

It just reminded me of a scene from Going South,
I"m so hungry I could eat a frozen Dawg.
Whats coming you can't change.
Might as well keep a sense of humor about it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but , honestly, this IS the topic board for DOG related issues, not just for general ranting. I barely come here anymore, it's so pointless, there's no interesting or informative dog discussions to read or contribute to, just so much BS....it must sadden Oli to see how all his work is wasted. If I were him, I'd avoid this side of the board, too.

And BeeTree--I caught the beginning & the very end of that show, wasn't it narrated by Sigourney Weaver? If not, the voice was very familiar. Wish I'd seen the part with the GSD.....but my hubby didn't want to see the 'doom & gloom', sigh, so many of us are feeling the first pressures of world financial change already.

And Moons......"and Hell followed with him".....quoting Johnny Cash or the Bible? & where's the pale horse? I'll continue trusting the wisdom of the Fathers...

And YR!!! My, what a lot of TEETH you have! LOL!

I am a moderate Democrat, but I have lots of Republican, Right-wing, Left-wing, Green party, Ron Paul folks, Ralph Nadar, & every other kind of belief system friends, I think some of them might be a little nuts, but I love them all, & I leave it to God to do the judging & the sorting out. That's his business, not mine. And I think that's what makes America the wonderful place it is, were are, & always have been, a diverse nation. And we were taught to live by the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Translated, that means treat everyone with a modicum of respect. You want to cuss the sky blue about someone elses views, go for it,-- in your bathroom, with the door shut.....but not on here. Keep up with the intolerance, & hatred, & the Taliban & terrorists of the world smile, you are helping them turn America into a closed society, just like theirs. Isn't that what they were trying to accomplish? Good work!

I feel like I say some version of this same speech a couple times a month, anymore. It's really getting old.

I wonder how many people who start these threads bashing one sect or another, religious, politcal, or otherwise, are actually INVOLVED in any kind of local politic whatsoever, or how many of them actually go out into their own communities and try to make a difference. Not many, I'll wager. Talking big behind a screen sitting on one's @ss is much, much easier.

by TessJ10 on 11 June 2009 - 21:06

"Tess -- to the best of my knowledge, I started one Off Topic Thread -- it was about people who pay their Credit Card bills on time. If you know of more that I started, please point them out to me."

I agree with you.  I said SitasMom is the thread starter, not you.  You haven't started many (or any, for all I remember).

"also do not recall ever saying that General means Non Dog Topics -- again, show me where I said that. "

Here you go: from just a little while ago today, in response to sueincc saying "Enough already" with the threads on politics or religion:

"....and why can't the complainers click on the GSD Section of the Forum?"

And you've posted before telling people 'this is the General Topic forum' so they should go to the GSD side to talk dogs.  Go look 'em up yourself.  Unless you run back and edit them, they're out there.  I'm not the only one who's read them.

Kalibeck and KCzaja, you're both right.

What irritates me is people who don't study the issues, don't vote, then complain about the results.
Duhhhh...
