Yes Ugly,
I grew up with the Nelsons, how times change.
It ain't exactly Ozzy and Harriet anymore is it.    Nicholas Cage said that in Raising Arizona..

Maggiemae,
Man can't help hurting others, its in his blood.   And then to ask for forgiveness or claim justification.
That too is in our blood.  Guilt you have to be able to deal with the guilt don't you.

Oh, well.
I'm gonna check out a movie.
Later.

The heretic

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said, "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well, are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious." I said, "Me too! Are your Christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian." I said, "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant." I said, Me too! Are your Episcopalian or Baptist? He said, "Baptist!" I said, "Wow! Me too! Are your Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord? He said, Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are your Original Baptist Church of God or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off.

Its true Sue..

The enemies of Christ sought to Divide and Conquer the only Institution capable of Muzzling them after about 1600 years.

There are now over 35,000 Competing, Cannibalizing Protestant Sects and none can agree on how to interpret scripture.

Similar to Judaism in having various sects: Hasidics, Orthodox, Conservative, Reformed, Ethiopian

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."

it's between him and god for is it not true that only god is to judge?  i wonder whose standards you think one must follow god's or one of his followers'? the basic tenets of the new testament are to love god and love thy neighbor.  when you do these 2 things you are following christ and are a christian and you have opened your heart to the heart of jesus.

i do not miss the point of the original question but rather see the flaw in it for it is not yours to judge.  you can perhaps even ought to question your own faith, but only god has the right to question the faith of another.  no one here knows what is in obama's heart and most, if not all, the speculation/accusations are based in deep seated personal fears and prejudices and this is exactly why it is only for god to judge what is in the hearts of men
.  so love and have faith in god and leave it to him to judge the hearts of others. - you asked the question and this is my answer.

my best,
susan

It is not for us to judge what he is, but it is ours to say we do not like his conscious decisions he has made in his speeches in Europe. Be it , he is or he is not a Christian,,,only God can decide that...but he left our country standing in a pool of quick sand...he degraded us in front of head of States, rulers of other countries, and foreign dignataries.  He put us down, spewed a bunch of nonsense, that even China laughed at... All the foreign countries have emailed, posted rebuttals to him and he just keeps on reciting his written speeches as if he were on campus of some college class. The foreign countries are not impressed. SO what does that do for us..causes disrespect..I wonder where he learned it.... Sitting in the pew of his church he attended for 20 years, from a man who claimed to be a Preacher of God,,,and a christian... Obama is only a product of what he was taught , just like we walk the path we are taught..   Our nation was founded on the HOly Bible and God as the maker and creator...that God makes no difference between Jew or Gentile..all are inheritors of  Life Eternal and have the choice to follow Jesus and become a Christian.. Nations, people and non believers choose every day to do what they want. It is Gods command to go and teach all nations.....not just one......all.....to the jew first and then the gentile....all become one in Christ.   There will be a lot of false teachers and teaching before the end of time here on earth and the King comes to call his people home...better be redy and watching and praying...it doesn matter what you say you are , it matters how you live what your are and say...I would say  Obama didn't have a very good example from a man who said  "God Damn America"  and we all know Rev . Wright.

Retired Proctor and Gamble official sends an open letter to President Obama

Read the Open Letter the New York Times refused to print

June 9, 2009

Dear Jan,

Lou Pritchet is a former vice president of Procter & Gamble whose career at that company spanned 36 years before his retirement in 1989, and he is the author of the 1995 business book, Stop Paddling & Start Rocking the Boat.

Mr. Pritchett confirmed that he was indeed the author of the much-circulated "open letter." “I did write the 'you scare me' letter. I sent it to the NY Times but they never acknowledged or published it. However, it hit the internet and according to the ‘experts’ has had over 500,000 hits.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

By Lou Pritchett

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

con't:

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

so this is a political discussion - just wanted to clear that up.  also yr not shocking to have a member of a huge corp be shaking in his boots right now - there have been so many problems with mega corp abuses and many of these directly linked to the economic issues we are now experiencing, things need to change starting with tightening up on these mega corps - i'm sure walmart folks are none to happy either.

anyway i didn't vote for obama but think it's funny that when people picked on bush they were called un-american but these very same
people,so quick to outcast other americans,  are rallying against obama? isn't that the very definition of hypocrisy? - well that's enough politics and relgion for me, back to my freaking amazing pup who is 19 wks and as clever as they come

enjoy,
susan
