Karmen,

I have had a hard time watching it; I still can not believe that Doodlebug is not with you.  It was always Karmen and Dante (and still will be) and what was going on, how he was doing.....

Karmen:

Happy Thanksgiving.  We talk about your tribute at least once a week.  Any time we start to lose perspective on what the sport is really about, we think of you, Dante, and the tribute.   It ALWAYS brings us back to what is important and serves as a constant reminder that it is the time spent with our dogs that is most important . . . not a missed sit in motion, or a slow out.  You've captured that sentiment perfectly in the tribute.  I wish I could actually watch it without crying like an infant :)

Thanks again.  I miss Dante as well.  I never met anyone that didn't instantly fall in love with him.

Talk to you soon,

Jim

Can someone tell me what the song is that opens up this video.

I now need to re-hydrate myself.

Thank you Jim,  that means a lot to me. I know you knew Dante quite well (Jim helped me with Dante's training).  Dante always had  "smile" on his face lol.  His most famous trick of all..."show me your weenie" and he stop drop and roll lol.  My first Nationals with him he did that in the critique and they snapped a picture of him doing it and me petting his belly.  That year they framed pictures for all competitors and that was mine.  I cherish it everyday cause they caught his funny personality :)  I have it with me always.

While wiping tears, and laughing of Dante's sliding backwards of the ramp, my Zuni Granddaughter comes over licking the tears of my balling face.   Then I saw Dante's last Demo on October 8th and I really crumbled.   I lost my love of my life, Zuni, on this past October 8th unexpectedly.  I cry every day still.  I have his pictures all over my house.  In my car with me.  I am a walking Zuni tribute. There can only be one Zuni.  I know fullwell the pain and simultaneous pride one can feel at being so lucky to have had this once in a life time spiritual bond, like soul mates.

Twentyfour minutes?  that was all it was?  It didn't seem that long.

It was PERFECT.   Now THAT was love.....

What a beautiful tribute, we all have lost a special friend sometime in our lives and can relate to what this special dog meant to you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Dante was obviously an amazing companion and friend.  Your video was so beautiful and made me cry, but also smile at the bond you guys had.  I know it can be hard at times, loving and losing a dog,  all of us have been there and my thoughts go out to you on this day you are feeling a little down.
