Well it didn't take long to take out uglydogs thread LOL.Maybe the moderator don't agree with uglydogs stand on things . My bad . As uglydogs posts are always left standing, I was sure the moderater was in agreement on world issues with uglys position . Guess I need to rethink it now.

Political speech should be defended - but this is not the place for it.  On the other hand - if this were a political forum - Uglydogs posts should not be deleted.

Hear, Hear, KCzaja! Well said.   Any combination of sire and dam can produce a "lemon" puppy - one that has some kind of inherited genetic recessive problem. I have always said that buying a puppy is a roll of the dice. Buyers can do their homework and look at pedigrees until they go blind, but once in a while something less than desirable is going to happen. People need to understand that. The good breeder keeps track of her puppies and notes any problems that occur. The good puppy owner tells the breeder FIRST when the pup has a problem that might be genetic. The breeder and owner try to work it out. When a breeder notes problems with a repeat breeding (or even one breeding if it includes much of the litter), then it's time to retire that combination or that dog.

The only way to improve bloodlines is if people (breeders and dog owners) share information about how the pups turn out. In the long run, this will produce happier puppy buyers and better dogs. Maybe that sounds naive in this ruthless, greedy age, but it will certainly sort out the good breeders from the other kind.
