Thanks everyone or your replies.got it covered now.
I thought to myself "After", I posted about the heading, but I figured everyoe would know where I was coming from
(I guess that's debatable). And, BTW, thanks for the laughs thrown in.

I know this is old, but no one else said this. HomeAgain microchips are the only ones w/a bioadhesive that prevents them from migrating. I have all my animals chipped. One w/Avid, one w/24Pet Watch, and all the rest Home Again. The Home Again chips are all exactly where I put them and register on the scanner immediatly. The Avid chip is now located halfway down my cats front leg. How likely is a person to scan there? I only scanned her entire body b/c I knew the chip was in there. If she were to get lost, they'd think she wasn't chipped. I use Home Again or nothing, and I have done the last 3 myself.

When and if I have l litter, I'd probably chip them myself as well.

I chipped my own animals at home with the chip that I brought home from work.  I chipped all of mine after Hurricane Katrina.  So, they have both luckily, tattooed and microchipped.  You can't always read all of the tattoo, so nice to have the chip as well.  Yes, pretty big needle, but also pretty sharp.

And yes I haven't found that Home Again Chips have migrated at all.
