Cool video/dog, I've never seen him/that....
Is he darling? Yes!
Is he brilliant? Looks so.
Should he be bred? Probably not.
Should he be called a GSD? heck NO.

You also made a post in the Shiloh thread about this. To set the record straight, the Hobo dogs are in the Shiloh ancestry, through Samson, the malemute/GSD mix and also through Super Sweet Sabrina, an AKC reg.d GSD. (Which means they MUST have been pure GSD?) I know the original London, who was a brown sable, was a GSD, but it could be his successors were not. Chuck (their owner and trainer) chose the silver colouring because it showed up best on black and white TV.
I happen to like the Hobo colouring, but to each their own (and yes, I know their masks would be considered faulty under the GSD breed standard...) They certainly were remarkable dogs! I saw them perform live back in the '70's, and will never forget how amazingly smart they were!
Footnote: there was a Shiloh Shepherd named London, but this was NOT the original London, which belonged to Chuck Eisenman, though Chuck's London was in this dog's ancestry.

She, had a large kennel which housed well over 77 indoor out door kennels her Hobo's lived indoors with her except for two. Princess and Jada. At one time she had registrations for the dogs.. Littlest Hobo and then the dogs name but we have to remember that was a long time ago. Annie was 66 yrs old when I began working for her and that would be 27 yrs ago a lot of her dogs sold across Canada and the Usa. What made her was the Movie The Littlest Hobo. These dogs were recognized as well bred, confident with the ability to do the job.. I would love to be around another true Hobo today. But that would be very hard to do as we all know the lines are gone.

Males 24 to 27 inches at the shoulder 70-85 lbs. They were by no means extreme in size as these Shylo gsds suggest they were recognized and known to be to standard as documented here and with both registries.

That's very interesting Candis! Do you know their pedigrees or registered names? What lines went into their breeding? I've really been wanting to know this info, even though the lines are long gone.
