Hello,

yes it is true, the long stock hair gsd will be allowed again by the SV. The breedstandart will be changed, and the Langstock haar will become their own breedbook. They will have their own shows, and in that, all type of shows.....(including Breedsurveys,Trials,Körung) on OG, LG level and rumors have it, a BSHZS only for Coats aswell. All this will take a bit of time to establish, but the groundwork is layed out and we probably will hear more about it oficially in a little while.

This is what I was able to gather, and what I wrote reflects MY view of things.

Regards Ulli

Well Guys, I asked you if you thought Pup Heidi was going to be a long Coat at this age, a few weeks old about 4 or 5

Many said then Yes, she will be a long coat, i wanted a female pup and i had first choice before she was born, but she was the only female in the litter, I kept my word and had her although i thought then she was a coat

Here she is at 10.6 weeks old, certainly a long coat but has an undercoat as normal, This makes me Two Long Coats, so we will see what we make of them

Yes, she DOES look like a little Teufel child!!! I have Teufel-child, too. So, it sounds like Christopher was right, and they will be more along the lines of a separate variety, with its own shows and breed book, than just being allowed back into the already existing breedbooks, shows, etc. Now, I wonder how the hell that segregation (for want of a better word) is going to work. Each coat from an otherwise standard litter goes into the LH breedbook, sans littermates, and is shown in separate show? This is really going to be a hodge-podge for the first years, isn't it? Sounds pretty inefficient, too. Will "cross-breeding" be allowed with standard-coats, and into which book would those progeny go? Sheesh, I hope this ends up being handled the way I understand the Belgians (Mals and Tervs) are handled. Sounds like a mass of confusion otherwise.

There should be no separation in to separate breeds ,like the Ma ls, Belgian Tervs, that's just ridiculous.Just come to terms with the fact all coats exist in the German Shepherd they always have and always will.Lets consider splitting colors into different breeds and see where that goes..

Jean, We are talking about the SV's action,. Or possible action. If, as Oskar (who is IN Germany) indicates, the plan is NOT actually integrate the LH back, as it was before, the result is going to be chaos. Are you aware that Mals and Tervs are NOT considered separate breeds in Europe? THAT is what I am talking about and precisely what I referenced..
