So to answer yur question, yes most of the helpers that I worked with don't ware full suite during training, unless they do not know the dog or know that the dog has some bad habbits. :)

That would never happen over here, Not in the clubs i belong too
They are all very experienced qualified Workers, and they take a lot of pride in doing the job right and what is laid down in the rules about dress on the working field, and if you are practising then you are on the working field, What goes on in one country is not the same as another, I prefer it our way

As you know US is famous for relaxing rules, and making their own :) lol hihihihi
If you ask me the quality of helper work is more important to me than what he choose to ware, after all is his nugets that are on the line not my :) hahaha
I work with PPD people so our helper changes around often from full bite suite to sleev and back, so I think wareing the full outfit would make him waste more time on changing than actually training.

Steve, I have never even seen a vest as you describe here in the US. Scratch pants and a sleeve is all I have EVER seen with sleevework. Then again I don't train or trial in Schutzhund, my helper has a full suit, or most time just wears the top jacket since my dog has only gone up top. For the long sends or numerous dogs, they suit all the way up.
For what it's worth though I have been to a few Sch clubs and viewed numerous pics here and elsewhere and never noticed a vest as you say. Maybe it's just a European thing? Us silly American's probably see it as a waste of $, time to put it on and too warm for most climates here.

Steve plus US is known for high temp high humidity summers, man simple t-shirt become too much after few minutes, now you would try to wear a vest you would be in for a treat lol :).

Snaiper
it is known to get reasonably hot over here in the summer, up to 40degs C about 100 deg F
We do not get the humidity that you may get
His sides are unprotected, that is what i am saying, It is possible for the Dog to miss, But if it does and no one wheres a vest to help take the bite, but then i guess they will wear one afterwards.
4Pack i will be training tonight going away in 15 minutes, but it is Black Dark so although the lights will be on with the work on the field, Plus it is Freezing and Snow around but i do not know the conditions where i am going, its near on an hours drive the Pic,s will not come out too well
But i will try and take a Pic of the Pakwerker wearing the vest, if not another time in daylight say next Sunday

Steve I do agree with your point, I just gave you few reasons for it that's all. If that would be me I think I would want to be more protected :). Steve humidity is the big issue it feels like hell sometimes. :)
