>  My former chief allowed no semi auto weapons period in our vehicles! we carried shotguns only. We use to get a kick out of this when arresting bad guys in a house, vehicle or on person with just these shotguns while  confiscating AK 47s, Bushmaster AR 15s, Other assault rifles with high power scopes, any type sidearm you can imagine. All this and more and we were only allowed shotguns for a backup weapon.

>  Don't try to pull the wool over my eye that civilians are arming because of us so called becoming more of a military type profession. 99% of these people arrested had prior arrests, served time or were actively committing crimes at the time of their arrest or were just being buttholes!! I can't recall a single arrest I made confiscating a weapon as mentioned where it was for home protection!! I did however have a few say it was for hunting!

For those of you who dont like the police remember one thing, without LEO's out their you dont have freedoms, you wont be able to go to the store, you wont be able to park your new car in the lot and expect it to be their. See LEOS do a noble job and yes their are a few who screw up the image, but remember the millions of contacts officers make with citizens and nothing goes wrong. Think about the thousands of Warrants served on the shitheads where training keeps everyone safe. You are right people should be able to defends themselves but who defends those who cant, LEO's do. The funny thing is this I have arrested real pieces of shit and they have told me that they would never call the Police because we are dirty or for many other reasons, but you know when the shit hits the fan and that same shithead is shot gues who they call THE POLICE, when his mama is robbed, or assaulted guess who they call. Funny how that is. You need to understand all LEO's are humans first and yes even LEO's make mistakes, just like the Doctor who miss diagnoses an illness and the patient dies. This whole thing is not about egos its about what is right and wrong.

Ugly dog don't concern yourself with who I defend.  You are wrong, I was not making excuses for LEO's, I was pointing out some facts.  LEO's have a tough job that few have the patience, stomach or desire to do.  Not all departments have tazer's, officers are obligated to follow the SOP's and/or SOG's of their organization or THEY get into trouble when they don't.  LEO's have to follow the rules unlike the criminals walking the streets, malls, etc. looking for victims to score some money for their drug habits, etc.   Again it's easy to sit back in your easy chair and point fingers without all the facts.  Unless you were there you shouldn't be judging these officers.  There is alot that goes on at scenes that isn't included in written reports because they are moving to the next incident.  The area my boyfrien works is a shit hole, he runs from homicide, to domestic violence to a child beaten to death by it's own parent(s), to drugies and prostitutes, etc.  Where do you think the LEO's minds are after seeing a baby with a head the size of a basket ball from being beaten repeatidly for days and the swealing is so severe that the child is brain dead from the pressure on it's poor little brain.  I don't know how he or any other LEO keep their sanity, I'd be more than tempted to shoot the SOB who did that to any child and not think twice.  Yes there are bad officers as I said before but there are more good ones even after dealing with shit like this day in day out.  I don't know this departments policies and I doubt you do either.  Many agencies in my area have very strict rules to adhere to.  It's not like football, when you make a mistake on the streets you don't get a flag.  You get much worse.  Next time you or anyone see's an officer, firefighter or teacher you should thank them for their service to our community and children.
