Retire... I can,t imagine... 

save 15% of every dollar you earn and soon you will retire too, its not easy, but it can be done.

the mind set has to change from "it was on sale, I saved 5$" to "even though it was on sale, I didn't really need it and I saved 42$, one less thing for the land fill".

I've only bought one new car and have kept very care I've owned for well over 10 years and up to 350,000 miles.. Our home isn't big, we go out to eat maybe twice a month, and split the meal. We brew our own coffee, no Starbucks. We have an emergency savings account just in case so we can pay off the credit card every month.

In my closet, I have a total of 6 pairs of shoes, and 2 pairs of boots. 3 pairs of jeans, 5 pairs of dress pants, 10 tops to go to work in and enough jackets and coats to stay warm in......Same with my dresser.....just enough stuff to last a week without doing laundry.

Our splurge is our dogs.......but even with the dogs, we found found ways of cutting costs......and still taking good care of them.

Stick with the Hair stylist career.  The thought of you being a mortician, coroner, or working in a morgue scares me to death.

      I bet the sunset down there is something to see, I,ll have to make it down there sometime in my life and whatch the sunset and I could tell you the story of how i lost my virginty to a 30 year old horse trainner at a horse farm I worked at when i was 17... oh those precious old memories...
