I never purchased anything from Leerburg and continue to be spammed by them on a weekly basis. They apparently got my email address from their forum. I signed up on their forum nearly 5 years ago and only posted a half dozen times then left. Have not posted on the Leerburg forum in years. Sorry, but it is irratating to be spammed by them for simply signing up on their forum. Like I said, I NEVER purchased anything from them.

That is understandably irritating Triodegirl. I wonder if when you sign up you have the choice wether or not to get mail/news from them? If there is maybe you can 'uncheck' it.

I have bought a number of time from Leerburg, and post occasionally to the forum, and I do not think I have ever gotten an e-mail from them, just catalogues in the mail. I don't even get a notice of PMs, because I do not want them, just as I do not get them from this site. I like to keep my computer uncluttered as much as possible. I do have a spam box, but I have never seen anything from Leerburg there, just stuff from clothing companies, etc. I always check the do not send e-mail box when I register anywhere, because I don't want to be bothered.
I am really surprised that it hasn't stopped after you made the requests. They are a reputable company. Did you try a phone call? I have always found their office staff to be very friendly and competent. If it continues, it should be possible to block their address, but I would be very surprised if that was needed.

Of course when you buy online, you will typically get eMails, Specials, etc., from the Companies. You apparently indicated that you wanted to receive their information. Just delete it -- what is the big deal ?

If you don't even want to go through the trouble of deleting their emails, just set a spam filter that deletes them as soon as they are recieved. No biggie. I get a ton of email. Most of it I asked for in one form or another. I delete a lot of it without reading. I repeat, no big deal. Not being charged by the byte, are you? If so, change ISPs.

Spam would be a big deal in large volumes if you are on high speed...I found out that there is usually a limit on how many GB you can use per month if you use wireless aircards or satellite...Don't know if it applies to cable or others. On my wireless card, I am limited to 5 GB per months, but my email is webmail, so I can delete things without reading them and it saves on the volume of data being sent through my connection.
Don't know anything about Leerburg...I've looked at their leashes, and when I finally do get my GSD, I will likely buy my collar and leashes from them, since they have fairly reasonable prices and high quality products. I always opt out of giving my email, if I can, and if I have to, I always make sure to specify that I do not want to receive email offers, etc, from them.
