I see and hear this all the time. And yes, I too am with London and more and more, I tell the people what I think. There is just no excuse for most of the people trying to dump their GSDs.

Very, very sad. I hope they find the owners and throw the book at them.

Okay, it's inhuman, horrible, disgusting...BUT!!!

It is also NOT POSSIBLE for a dog to survive for TWO MONTHS without food or water! It should have been dead in a week or less.

I'd check a bit further into this one before taking it at face value. I know abandoned pets are becoming a huge problem as more and more people lose their jobs and homes, but unless someone had left food and water for the dog, it should have been long dead by the time investigators found it.

Someone call Cesar Millan! He needs to rehabilitate this dog. And Sunsilver, maybe there was a dripping faucet, running toilet? If he had water and a bit of food, maybe he could have made a miserable existance out of it.

According to the news media story, there were 2 bags of dog food torn open on the floor, neighbors reported the former owners of the dog had moved out 2 months prior, i don't know anything more than the media reports....possibly the neighbors were able to give water to this animal that was confined to a basement area........there were feces covering the floor, we all know that dogs will on occassion eat feces, there's a little water content......I know you can't believe everything you see on the news, but this was pretty solid looking.... yes, I know it seems incredible. Check the link provided. As a nurse, I have seen persons survive longer without nutrition or hydration than the text books would have you believe......I know 2 months seems a stretch.....doesn't make it right. jh

Oh, and as most folks who live here in Eastern Pa can attest, most basements here are wet to some degree....just a thought. jh
