Sorry to hear about the PRAA diagnosis. Knew someone with a dog that had that problem (actually the "left" versus "right" arch) and they took the dog as a pup to Wash. State for surgery and it was successful. Not cheap though.

The eating problem isn't un-common. Some littermates take to the switch to solid food quicker than others.
I wouldn't give up on that pup yet.
If it doesn't work out for the person that wants the pup for hunting it will probably make a really nice pet for someone.

I also had a puppy that had this problem, he was diagnosed at 6 weeks with PRAA. My vet was very keen to perform the surgery and so we went ahead and he is now 2 1/2 years old and still going well.
