geez, and i went shopping with my sis in santee alley in los angeles (lots of stuff - cheap) and it had to have been over 80 degrees! i prefer cooler (colder) weather and i hate this, but i have to admit, i've never had to deal with NO POWER for days. a few hours maybe, but because too many people had their air conditioners running full blast, nothing serious. bless you all and be like the boy scouts-prepared! i would hate to only have sponge baths and not be able to read!! i'd have to talk to my husband and son!!! just kidding.......?

In warm weather you just fill a cooler and head for the beach.
Being snowed in for four days tests a relationship, any relationship !!  LOL
Attachments do help .......:)

baby eagle - it is NEVER a good idea to be snowed in with your own husband!! the only time it happened to me, we were camping (ok, in our fifth wheel), but we did get snowed in (for 2 whole days!). i read out loud to my son (3rd grade at the time) til i couldn't talk (it was "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and i sobbed like a weenie when the dog died) and then had to listen to my other half (not sure about the better part) worry about fuel etc. hell, we had wine and brandy and food and two dogs to keep us warm. i was fine (ish) about the whole thing. i got to the point that i was gonna feed him to the dogs tho. and that was only 2 days.
twomoons! ATTACHMENTS!!!???? i blush.....

oh yeah, heading to the beach in hot weather???!!!  ONE beach in socal can have over 100,000 !! people! ONE beach and they will ALL be that way!! luckily, we have a pool and a number of coolers (i think my husband collects them) so, no beach for me and we can fill each cooler with something different....

You ought to live in the swamp  lands of TEXAS , AFTER hurricane Carla and Rita and Ike and no power for 9 to 12 weeks, and no water , people in water up to their    UHUH and nothing you can do unless you have generators and a husband with a brain to keep you moving and get the house and business up again...

When my hubby died, I got out of Galveston area as fast as my little ole body could move....

It is worse than snow...   nasty sour, bugs , dead fish, animals, everyone elses property on your property, holes in windows, roofs missing, or half of your roof,,, and no heat or a/c....been there done that....snow would be a blessing...

Im ready for a power outage...gonna put wood in a bucket and throw in paper and a match...

lol                     barbq pit comes inside....I learned how to make coffee in a tin pot and it was kinda good....and wash the skillet , (iron )  with dirt and a newpaper,,,,,just like camping..
I do have a well that is hand pumped so I wont be without cold water....heat me a kettle now where Do i bathe???? Funny how we are so spoiled...
